I got in for CS. 1490 SAT 4.35 GPA. Good essays and good extracurriculars. 1 international and 1 national award plus some state and city ones. Really good extracurriculars

She got in to Villanova and CUBoulder, deferred from UMich and USC. Crazy.
I wonder if they are accepting more OOS students because of the budget issues.

iād give it a little more time since umd does mention that decisions will be released by feb 1. otherwise iād prob call admissions on monday
Forgot to mention, applied for Business. Acceptance letter stated Smith is the advising school so I guess thatās good.

In at NOVA and denied UMD is crazy. Iām sorry! At least she has great options; is there any option for reconsideration or appeal at UMD? My daughter was accepted for Spring but with fall starts in state at PSU or Pitt I donāt think sheād consider spring.

My son got in to CS. No Honor invitation. Waiting for merit.
OOS, 1540 SAT, 3.87 UW GPA (but mix another school, boost up to 3.9)
Club president, good EC out of high school, summer research, great recommendation letter. Agreed that UMD is no longer safety but a reach now.

A student does not need Honors, Scholars, or any other special program to be successful at UMD or Life.
