Except CS major. I don’t know if other CS applicants have the same info showing in their portals, but I do know you need to declare CS major and admitted to CS major directly. This is new this year.

Kk. Have that too. Good luck!

If a student is admitted to LSA CS or CoE CS, they’ll be notified with their acceptance.

Prior to the release of decisions everyone’s portals should look identical (by school).

“On your application, you indicated an interest in advance selection for the computer science program. Advance selection consideration is made only after an applicant has received an admit decision from their primary University of Michigan college. Once an advance selection decision has been reached, that information will be displayed for you here.”

Worth noting for students/parents who check portals often: “The decision notification email will NOT be sent if you have already viewed your decision.”

Good to know! That is a relief! Thank you!

I’ll amend my previous post re: advanced selection to CS.

Michigan will make their decision on a student’s admittance to LSA or CoE (home school) with their EA release in late January. In that acceptance email, assuming one is accepted, Michigan will state that your home school will make the “advanced selection to CS” decision within 10 days of the EA decision.

DS applied to LSA and has no major listed in top right corner either. But I can’t remember if it was listed there before or not. His screen is the same dark color posted above.

I thought the School of Information only accepted students after 2 years of undergrad. When applying to UMich, you can apply for Direct Admit for when that time comes. My son applied to be a DA to the school, but he is LSA for admissions. Does that make any sense? We found it a little confusing, but crossing our fingers!

This is normal

I know very little about the School of Information, other than each school at Michigan makes their own decisions.

If you have any questions about admissions, then I’d give them a call or send them an email.

I’m curious if anyone has details on admit rates for the kinesiology school - I haven’t seen much specifically about that program…

Yes this is correct. Last year they added the preferred status to judge interest. It’s a hot major right now. Students love it.

My son does not have the AP/IB button. We are OOS.

same for me as well… oos

My kid has AP/IB button. We are OOS too. He applied to residential college in LSA. Maybe your kid applied to different college? Or, did you report AP scores or DE in your application?

My son had several APs and DEs in his application. This is considered a reach school for him, so we will see if the lack of AP/IB button is an indicator when the decisions come out.
