University of Michigan Ann Arbor Early Action Fall 2024

Tell your daughter to keep her head high!
Impressive profile!!!
In last years, I’ve heard of several kids in similar situation that are accepted in the next round. (Virtual hug)

Yes I did. Just wondering because they didn’t ask for my mid year report. Thanks for the help

Do we have any idea when the postponed kids will hear back? Is it all at once, or do decisions trickle in? I know they say by April, but is that a hedge? Thanks for any help you can offer!

S24
OOS
35 ACT
3.82 UW GPA
7 AP total (3 in 11th grade, 4 in 12th)
LSA Econ
Deferred

Is there a consensus on whether OOS deferred is still possible or if it’s a soft rejection?

You create a scholarship profile and apply to scholarships that pertain to you. They also give grants outside of typical fafsa aid that r determined by CSS.

Our guidance counselor sent them directly

oooh ok when do you find out about that info? would it be like February, or more like April?

Like end of March to April… You will see acceptances for Ross in Feb March and April. Also SMTD is on a different schedule.

In the past… There have been very small trickles… It all comes down to how many Accept in EA. In theory half the class is accepted during EA. I have seen many of these acceptances on other threads today for acceptances from other schools. One can only go to one school. Many drop out at this stage and many don’t get funding and realize they can’t afford it also.

So… Still hope and a ways to go.
Good Luck.

Congrats! My son is graduating in May in Sport Management…and I cannot begin to tell you how amazing his experience has been. The Kinesiology School has been top notch with their personalized support and the opportunities provided to them. Honestly it has felt more like a private school than a huge public school. Also, I don’t think everyone realizes how few students that Sport Management accepts. The year my son was accepted they had only admitted less than 100 freshmen into the Sport Management major (and less than 400 into Kinesiology as a whole). So you can imagine how close knit they all become. Feel free to reach out to me via private message if you would like to hear more about some of the opps that are available and my son’s experience. Congrats again - and Go Blue! (By the way, I also have another child who applied last year and did not get in off of wait list either - but is so happy where he is at - it all works out as it should, and the right doors open and close where they are meant to be)
