University of Michigan Ann Arbor Early Action Fall 2024

  • LSA students can more easily double-major with other LSA departments
  • Engineering students can more easily dual with other Engineering programs"

That is true, but typically it’s easier to transfer from CoE to LSA than the other way around. I think that’s probably why students start at CoE as a CS major than LSA.

That’s pretty harsh, I’m in the bay area and a lot of kids got deferred for UM and posting that they didn’t put in their best effort on their essays oozes judgement without even knowing the kids. They take their apps seriously.

Any information on the chance of getting in advanced selection if postponed and or when it comes out?

Sorry, can you rephrase the question. Coffee hasn’t kicked in yet lol. Advanced selection ??

i think they mean postposted for CS

Me also but just wanted to be sure. Thx.

For the poster I put a link above but talk about it 1770. Also @AcademicPea seemed to have figured this out but and it’s newer… If you didn’t get accepted directly into CS there are different options at Michigan. The website explains it also. If still unsure I would just email /chat /call Michigan engineering admissions and they will help you. If you want a direct admit program for CS that option is not viable if not accepted directly. But many many options remain. In fact many CS students switch into some of these programs.

Besides the Graduate, the other not mentioned on the list that I mentioned earlier as the Residence Inn downtown.

These two hotels allowed us to walk everywhere and had regular availability for us.

Thanks!

Is there any official statistics on the EA 2024 from U Michigan, especially for OOS students?

Too early

I cannot recall the university ever releasing admission data with early acceptance and regular decision data split out. They may give total applications, but not much more. What were you hoping to learn?

Typically, Michigan will issue a press release around October giving various basic information related to admissions.

Here’s the information release from October 2023 for the 2023-2024 admissions cycle (last cycle):

And then early in the new year of 2025, we’ll get the 2024-2025 CDS. Michigan hasn’t ever released a breakdown between EA and RD.

If my daughter accepts U of M she will accept RC for sure. All types are there. But my daughter is not your average stem kid either.

S24 submitted his continued interest 250 word write up. Hoping that somehow, someone at U-Mich decides to NOT wait until April and start releasing decisions in waves starting now !!! : )

Wouldn’t that be great! I think the moderators here said there’s a chance some could trickle out starting in March

If not in Ross, Stmd and a few others LSA will be the last Friday in March. So March 29th unless they do something completely new this year.

When does financial aid come out??

Later in the month but with fafsa delays I would just call, email FA and ask for their timeline.

My son was admitted to LSA, and he just this morning advised me that he opted into the RC. He’s more of an athlete type and also a musician. I wouldn’t really call him “artsy”. I really think there are all types of students in the RC. For him - he values the smaller learning environment coming from a rural school district, guaranteed central campus housing, knocking out foreign language as soon as possible, and the first year seminar which counts for FYWR.

I applied to Michigan in the regular decision round. I just got an email saying that they have enough information to make a decision but if I want, I can fill out an expression of continued interest form. What does this mean?

I would jump all over that opportunity. What major?
