LSA students can more easily double-major with other LSA departments
Engineering students can more easily dual with other Engineering programs"
That is true, but typically it’s easier to transfer from CoE to LSA than the other way around. I think that’s probably why students start at CoE as a CS major than LSA.
That’s pretty harsh, I’m in the bay area and a lot of kids got deferred for UM and posting that they didn’t put in their best effort on their essays oozes judgement without even knowing the kids. They take their apps seriously.
For the poster I put a link above but talk about it 1770. Also @AcademicPea seemed to have figured this out but and it’s newer… If you didn’t get accepted directly into CS there are different options at Michigan. The website explains it also. If still unsure I would just email /chat /call Michigan engineering admissions and they will help you. If you want a direct admit program for CS that option is not viable if not accepted directly. But many many options remain. In fact many CS students switch into some of these programs.
I cannot recall the university ever releasing admission data with early acceptance and regular decision data split out. They may give total applications, but not much more. What were you hoping to learn?
S24 submitted his continued interest 250 word write up. Hoping that somehow, someone at U-Mich decides to NOT wait until April and start releasing decisions in waves starting now !!! : )
My son was admitted to LSA, and he just this morning advised me that he opted into the RC. He’s more of an athlete type and also a musician. I wouldn’t really call him “artsy”. I really think there are all types of students in the RC. For him - he values the smaller learning environment coming from a rural school district, guaranteed central campus housing, knocking out foreign language as soon as possible, and the first year seminar which counts for FYWR.
I applied to Michigan in the regular decision round. I just got an email saying that they have enough information to make a decision but if I want, I can fill out an expression of continued interest form. What does this mean?
