I bet there are plenty more acceptances coming, hang in there people!
i will honestly not be upset if i’m waitlisted/denied. it would be comedic to me considering a good amount of people at school were admitted with lower stats but with legacies.
Man, I heard not many acceptances left either… At this point, I think I’ll just expect a negative decision…
Why do you guys think there aren’t many acceptances left? I think they just have so many apps that they can’t do them all at once. Hang in there.
first I think the people in the admissions office are very busy but that being said I don’t think they are under staffed and unable to get thru the applications in their desired time frame. as for spots left I’d say 15% or less. in order to hit their total they cannot have a large number of decisions left at the end otherwise they would have to reject more and use the waitlist more. they were like overenrolled by 300 or so last year which means they will probably keep the number lower this year and the waitlist bigger.
@manas1997 @nat97xo I’m RD International, applied Jan 9th, Accepted March 3rd (probably the friday before though) to COE.
I applied Jan 1st, and I’m from Canada, I applied LSA
I seriously thought only a few, if any, RD decisions had been released. I stand corrected. Does anyone know if they released one of the giant waves? Either way, I wouldn’t give up hope.
I just checked UMich class of 2019 facebook page and it shows there are already 5668 people there even though the facebook page is not official. UMich admission office goal of this year is to enroll about 6000 freshies and yield overenrollment. So idk if i should still keep my hope hang in there and be positive. I know not all the enrolled students are gonna attend UMich but at least most of them would do. I really hope UMich could just give us a direct decision, i dont really care is a rejection or waitlisted or whatever anymore(but yeah an acceptance is definitely better), i just wanna get this wait over.
@becky8899 I have been in the group from the beginning, and I am an admitted student, but I have spoken to a ton of kids who are in the group and are deferred or haven’t heard yet. They had over 30,000 applicants. No worries.
On the tumblr page they said that they sent out rejections as well as acceptances. In which case, our apps are probably being read right now, and there may be a large batch coming this friday, a week and a half from ivy day. I have a 33 ACT, so even I am a bit surprised I haven’t gotten a decision yet.
@tarikd Pleasure seeing you here ;p
and @becky8899, I have been a part of the page since early December, although I still haven’t heard anything. It’s also a good idea to keep in mind all of the random people who have joined, or who are upperclassmen. So, I think the number of people in the Facebook group have no real significance.
Considering the admitted student visit (Campus Day) started in January and there are only around 10 sessions for the LSA left, I would expect more than half of the admissions have been announced. They are likely to admit less than 15,000 this year to achieve the goal of 6200 enrollment.
2310 sat, 35 act, 98.3 gpa, still no decision… loll i applied early too (got deferred)
@DAIMYO it’s people like you that convince me there is no way there aren’t a lot more acceptances coming. I’m sure you will get in and your deferral may have been more of where your application physically fell in the pile than anything else…I’m sure you will get int.
@DAIMYO LSA, I assume?
@collegemomjam Haha yea i hope so, hoping to hear something friday
@collegeplease123 No, CoE
@DAIMYO Regardless you should’ve gotten in EA. I have a good feeling for ya this Friday. Good luck
@collegeplease123 Thanks. It just sucks because i need merit scholarships but i heard theyre first come first serve so i doubt ill get anything even if accepted at this point
@DAIMYO Merit aid is not likely for students admitted after Feb 1. Nevertheless, it is very competitive even with you test score and GPA. By the way, is your GPA weighted or unweighted? ACT 35 is about the threshold for Engineering Scholarships of Honors last year but still not everyone got it. Chance may be higher for girls.
