Also dunno if it makes a difference but my ACT was 35.25 technically so im higher end of ppl who got 35s lol
@DAIMYO Do you mind telling me what is your uwGPA? Do you has any class below 90? You know Umich consider GPA to be very important.
@billcsho Yea in ap chem last yr i had an 87 but every other class has been 90+ and my uw is 95.6
@DAIMYO So your uwGPA is around 3.95. It is not bad but it may be harder to get merit aid as 21% freshmen last year had GPA 4.0 from high school. Perhaps even higher percentage in CoE since their admission GPA is higher than UMich overall.
just a question, is LSA very competitive for intl’s?

Every single kid who has gotten into Umich from my son’s school so far has lower stats than him. A majority of admitted student stats for Umich is lower than his. If anyone here is expecting a rhyme or reason to admissions or merit aid - I don’t know what to say.

Nope - he hasn’t heard yet. At this point he has other options so we are not too stressed about it - well he is not stressed at all - I am maybe a little…
If it is your first choice, I can imagine it being so not fun - hang in there - I hope you hear good news soon. I also hope you have an alternative that you are excited about.

Just posted this on the U of Rochester thread, but helpful for all who are still waiting on Michigan. For those still waiting, there is definitely a lot of randomness and factoring that goes into decisions…much of which students have no control over…where you live, race, gender, and other demographic characteristics…your intended major, activities a school is looking for (perhaps they already accepted a number of violinists…or runners, or class presidents, etc). Having been through this for the first and last time this college season ( only child), it has been eye-opening…but the takeaway is that more often than not it is not because ther is something wrong with you, the student…it is about the schools looking to build a balanced class, having certain obligations for legacy, race, specific athletic or artistic talents. @Hobothecat Thats a great article and so true. There are so many great colleges and universities. It really doesn’t matter what great school you attend…it matters how prepared you are to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you at whatever school you attend.
My safety, Waterloo is mentioned in the article!!! Honestly, I feel that Waterloo is a better school than most of these “top” schools. Visited Princeton, Columbia and more in the summer was only impressed by MIT and Cornell.

I have been checking every day, so it had to have come today. I also just got the email at 12:01 pm PT. I guess their emails are a bit slower than their Wolverine Access updates. Best of luck that you hear soon <3
