I agree with you generally. But if you can’t afford your ED offer and it differs from NPC you don’t have to pull others while you try to sort it out. I’m guessing that’s not the case here and it’s uncool not to pull the apps. A lot of people hang on to them “just to see” but I wouldn’t brag about that here…gonna get nothin but hate.

Have any of the deferred ED applicants who didn’t hear earlier in the month heard anything today?
My kid was deferred but a buddy of his who was deferred ED was accepted today.

Bizarre. No notification of decision. Postponed message went away. I guess deferred? Mich admissions communication is

So once ED is over then everyone is EA but I know what you mean. Yes, People in ED some will get accepted today.
Do they historically actually post a deferral on your portal? This LOCI without a decision is weird.

My daughter’s friend who was deferred ED was deferred again today. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a school deferring twice and would prefer they just wait until they make the final accept/reject/waitlist decision.

This person could very well get accepted in the RD round. It’s up to the applicant if they want to o continue on. All Michigan states is that you will know by April. Some people will know prior in the different rounds.
As I stated above the majority here will wait till April if they choose too. It’s a very long ride.

Ed- deferred and think deferred again. No loci link because we submitted already. Is there anything else we need to do? The only change to the portal is that the initial message about postponement ED is now gone.
My kid has the “Verify Continued Interest” button but under “Early Action Status” in the middle it still says “We are pleased to confirm that your application will be reviewed in our Early Action period and your decision will be released by the end of January.”. So do we think there’s another release next week??

No I don’t think so. I think they just haven’t updated that. But they are doing this kind of weird.
No. I think it means deferred (but was poorly rolled out).

After a lot of confusion about the LOCI tab, there is now a banner at the top officially saying that the EA application was “postponed.”

My D26 daughter was rejected OOS. We didn’t think her chances were good so it’s not a huge shock. She had a 1380/3.8 and applied to LSA. Both parents were alumni so they truly don’t look at legacy status, lol. She’s sad for the “no” but has other schools she’s excited about. Congrats to all accepted today!
