University of Minnesota Twin Cities Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Tonight OOS son received a National Scholarship for $15k/year. He was admitted in October, so it took two months for the merit to come through.

Was that in the portal? Email? Physical snail mail? Thanks!

Thanks. S25 was admitted to one school (2nd choice) and then have not heard anything about the other one for months (1st choice). Also no merit offers or honors yet. According to the NPC, we should be getting some merit, so guess we’re just waiting.

My son received an email for status update. The merit letter was posted on his portal.

Happy New Year, everyone. We are still waiting on a decision, and hoping tomorrow might be the day if they continue with the Monday acceptances pattern. My daughter applied on 8/1, OOS for CBS, so it’s been a while :face_with_spiral_eyes:. Good luck to all!

Any luck for anyone this evening?

My son received notification of scholarship (OOS) @ 4:25 cst, he had been accepted on 9/16/24. Maybe they will be releasing some acceptances as well this evening :crossed_fingers:

Son still waiting 00S since Oct 24th submission for CBS. He has moved on to others with offers or pending.

My kid (OOS, 3.7 UW, test optional) got accepted to CLA today at 4:20. His first choice was Carlson, second was CLA. The acceptance made it seem like a waitlist situation for Carlson, in that it kept things open prior to the close of admissions.

Congrats! Seems a lot of those waiting are for Carlson. They might have already sent out enough acceptances for the business school by now as they have been doling out acceptances for some time now. Hope he has other good acceptances to choose.

Yea I’m still waiting too. OOS, TO, IB diploma with good range of EC’s. Applied for Biomedical Engineering on Nov 1. I heard they do rolling admissions, is that the case?

yes, my son applied November 8th and was admitted November 25th

Oh. So do they just not like me? Joking but like what?

You applied test optional, correct? It may take them longer to evaluate with test optional.

I wonder if specific programs take longer?

So it seems decisions come out on Mondays and it says all EA decisions will be out by 1/31. At worst it would seem 1/27 we will hear but does anyone know if traditionally they sent out decisions more frequently as the deadline got close. Son has been accepted to several schools some with scholarship but he loves Minnesota. I know it is a great school but we are from DC and have no family allegiance to Minnesota. If fact we are a Wisconsin family. That said I am sure every one wants there kids to live there own dream.

Not sure but if you need to know merit to make a decision (we do), they said on a virtual call we attended that merit is sent thru the end of March. My son was accepted in September but he can’t compare his offers without merit so it could be a while for us.

Wondering when the presidential scholarships usually comes out. My son was awarded Gold Scholar award of $10,000 a year for four years already. We are hoping to get more awards. We are from Minnesota.
