University of Oregon Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

I will say I think it’s annoying that they changed it so drastically from years past with no communication

Yes it definitely said Dec 15th. I have all my daughter’s decision dates written down on a spreadsheet.

It’s still Dec 15th right?

No, they changed it to late December

TheCollegeNavigators instagram just showed a DM saying that decisions will come out 12/19 at 5. If it is true, that would be great!

Thanks for the info. That would be a good way to wrap up finals week and start winter break, pending the news.

Thx. Would you mind posting the screenshot

Looks like the freshmen FAQs web page updated to confirm today 12/19:
”No. Early Action (EA) is not binding. It simply means that if you apply by November 1 for admission, you will receive a response from the Office of Admissions by December 19.”

Curious if anyone received honors college news.

No honors college (didn’t apply) but some pleasant OOS merit.

Accepted OOS Political Science. Applied honors also but haven’t heard about that. Received a Summit Scholarship.

My son was also accepted OOS, summit scholarship for bio. I think honors college comes out separately but not sure.

My son was accepted OOS, pre-business (he wants sports marketing) but no mention of any scholarship. :frowning: It’s his favorite school & he will likely go. But ugh on the financials. His GPA wasn’t high enough to qualify I guess. We haven’t filed the FAFSA yet, but we wouldn’t qualify for need based. Does anyone know if Oregon throws a bone to committed students after decision day once they know who’s attending? Even something small would help. The OOS tuition is just nuts but he loves it. Sigh.

Couldn’t hurt to call or write to them expressing very strong interest if they could offer some aid.

My son was accepted OOS for business with a small merit scholarship. He didn’t apply to the honors program. Congrats to all those accepted!

My older son 4 years ago had an odd experience, where he was offered some merit initially and then offered a higher level a couple of months later – not based on any additional interest expressed. So I think changes are totally possible! There’s a lot of time between now and 5/1.
