University of Pittsburgh Class of 2022

@hailtopitt1787 Hey, I saw my button changed on Wed, should I expect the acceptance email by today? Thank you!

@joezzzzz, You should hear from us very soon, but I cannot speak to the exact timing for each student.

My son applied through the Coalition App on which we had already filled out his coursework and grades, and then we got the email to enter his SRAR. We went on the SRAR site and made sure that it was linked to Pitt and that it was also linked to the Coalition App. Does this allow for the coursework and grades on the Coalition App to transfer to Pitt, or does that info have to be entered again directly for Pitt? Thanks for your help.

@hailtopitt1787 Hey, I just got my acceptance email video!!! So excited! But I want to know do you guys only send videos acceptance to main campus prospective students? Because I also applied to a regional Pitt University as a backup. So I wonder am I accepted to the main campus or the regional one. Thank you so much!

@GoPensSteelers You need to manually enter the grades in the SRAR site. The information in the Coalition App will not transfer.

@Joezzzzz, The video admit email is sent to students admitted to the Pittsburgh campus.

@hailtopitt1787 I got the video admit email. so that means I am accepted to U of Pittsburgh main campus(a.k.a Pittsburgh campus)right? I am so excited to hear that I am accepted because since Pitt is one of my top schools to go.

@Joezzzzz, Yes. Congrats!

I just recieved the email I got accepted, but to Johnstown. Is it possible to change my major to undecided and have a chance to get into the Pittsburgh campus?

My D received same email last evening DylanLambert1486,

"You have been accepted at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown for the fall term which begins Monday, August 27, 2018. "

She applied to main for Microbiology and I TO am wondering if this means all 4 years at Johnstown or will she have opportunity to transfer to main campus ???

@CCG-51 I got into main campus, which I was totally puzzled and pleased, but my major is undecided, I don’t know if that helps? May I ask her stats? Samething for you, hope it helps @DylanLambert1486

@hailtopitt1787
I recently got a letter telling me that I received a full tuition scholarship (I’m so excited!!!) and I was wondering if I would still be eligible to receive financial aid from Upitt, like from fafsa?

@Joezzzzz I had a super score of 24 ACT which I know is not good, a 1130 SAT which is also not good. But that is because I am just a bad test taker. I have 3.7 W GPA and taking AP calc, AP Physics, and AP computer science this year and doing well in them.

Where are the buttons mentioned in the threads? I have the log in on the website, but is there an app where the buttons change?

@JROBO1 , yes, the buttons change on the app. You need the same login credentials as you use for the website. The app will change from a light blue bar saying something like you have no application pending (I forget) to an option to accept/decline admission. Good luck!

@hailtopitt1787 For the Chancellor’s scholarship, does the selection committee see the short answers I submitted with my original application in addition to the three chancellor’s essays, or do they only see the three chancellor’s essays? I.e. Can I repeat any information that I included in my original short answers?

@hailtopitt1787 I just checked my SRAR, and it shows that my pass/fail classes(passed) only have credit for 1, but for other classes they are either 2.5 credits for the semester class and 5 credits for the full-year class. Is this seem right? My school gives 2.5 credits for semester class and 5 credits for the full-year class no matter the type of the class, and I am pretty sure I typed correctly. So just want to make sure there is not any typo since I got accepted.

Did anyone find out anything about financial aid yet?

@pennplz I believe the Pitt rep has said on here that Financial aid info won’t come out until early spring.

@daffyduck414, The amount of financial aid you are eligible does adjust according to your scholarship. Your Cost of Attendance includes more than just tuition, so it is possible that you could be eligible for financial aid to cover other aspects of the Cost of Attendance: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/next-steps/how-calculated

If you would like to talk about this further, you are welcome to contact our office and ask to speak to a financial aid counselor: 412-624-7488.

@xlhx33, The Chancellor’s Committee will not see your Short Answer Question responses from the application. They will only see your essays for the Chancellor’s scholarship.

@Joezzzzz, You should give our office a call and check on the accuracy of your SRAR, if you have questions. We can make adjustments to the SRAR, if needed. It is important to ensure it is accurate.
