@swimv1017 By the time I realized there was an app, the buttons were already there. I think the no pending application means it’s still being reviewed.
S applied 11/1 Engineering— 1460 3.91 UW 11/350
ACCEPTED w email on 11/29 but app showed accept/decline for about a Wk prior. We loved Pitt but … bring me the $$. No word
Good luck to all and thanks to all for your help @hailtopitt1787 @carachel2
The committee will probably meet again tomorrow for the first time after Thanksgiving…
So if he just got accepted you can’t really expect to hear about merit yet.
@Jonsmom14 I hope this year maybe is different?! There was a 32 ACT last year who got some merit and reported back here. Who knows? Everything seems a bit different this year. Hang in there!?
My daughter applied in August of last year and didn’t hear about merit until the week of Thanksgiving. If he was just now accepted I agree—you might be waiting until well into January. They are well known to be a bit of a “first come, first serve” type of school in regards to merit.
@hailtopitt1787 is there a portal that goes with the PA scholars app? It seemed to disappear after completion. Does the LOR also need to be in today? The recommender did not receive any email or call regarding D18. Thanks for any clarification.
@MPT3D, We do ask that all materials for PA scholarship application are submitted today. But if you are having issues with the LOR, please call our office today so we can assist you: 412-624-7488.
Once you have applied for the scholarships, there is not a portal for you to check your status. We will communicate with you via email/letter.
There is more information about the application/selection timeline for the Stamps Scholarship here: https://oafa.pitt.edu/financialaid/academic-scholarships/stamps-scholarship/
And the Nordenberg Scholarship: https://oafa.pitt.edu/financialaid/academic-scholarships/nordenberg-scholars-program/

In the Student Center of my Pitt account, it says “Mid-Term grades.” I have not heard anything from Pitt yet, so does this mean that Pitt is asking for my mid-term grades or does everyone have this?
Applied on Nov 15th for Pitt GAP Medicine. Has anyone heard back on GAP Medicine recently?
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
@hailtopitt1787 Are the chancellor’s scholarship essays and guaranteed admissions program essays read by the same people?
GAP medicine invites will come only from mid-Jan onwards.
@blue290, Not to my knowledge. The Guarantee applications are reviewed by the School of Medicine and the Chancellor’s Scholarship applications are reviewed by the University Honors College.

Hello all,
I’m currently working on my application to Pitt (Chem Engineering) and just wanted to see what y’all guess my chances might be to get in since my situation is slightly unique. I moved to the US five years ago and will be having to apply as an international student although I will have done all four years of high school in an American school (I’m in my senior year right now). To keep it short and simple, a majority of my high school career has been influenced by a bad sports injury that resulted in 3 surgeries, multiple weeks out of school, and many months where I was just “out of it.”
I explain the effects of the injury in my essays, but I also talk about the positive life lessons and try to make clear that I don’t try to let it hold me back. I have only taken all advanced classes (except for two years of English) and have taken multiple AP exams and have scored decently.
My stats are:
Weighted GPA: 3.66
SAT: 1340 (630 Writing and Reading, 710 Math)
Ok ECs
Sorry for that wall of text, but any reply is appreciated, thank you - Kick.
Hello,
I applied to UPitt around early November (11/03 to be exact) and my application was marked complete around 11/20 because that was when they received my documentation of citizenship. My portal says that the application submit date was 11/03, so should I be counting 3-6 weeks from 11/03 or 11/20 (when my doc. for citizenship was received)? Because if so, I think my results should be coming out either this week or at latest next week. Any advice? I am also applying for Dietrich A&S. Thank You!
Hi,
I applied the exact same day to the same school and I have yet to hear from them either. Hopefully we get some good news this week. Keep us updated!
@Kickr2… I think its really hard to guess what any students chances are to be accepted into Pitt. From a statistical perspective, your grades and scores look good. My son was admitted with 1220 SAT and 3.6 GPA (unweighted) 5.21 GPA weighted. He didn’t have many EC’s Pitt takes a wholistic approach when it comes to acceptance. I’m sure he was borderline with his SAT scores as Pitt was definitely a reach school for him but his first and only choice none the less. Best of luck to you!!
@hailtopitt1787
I called admissions today to see if they had everything they need for my application. I was told that my application was under review. I asked how long before I would recieve a decision and was just told that the review process lasts between 3-5 weeks usually, but that it would be closer to 5 weeks because of how busy they are. Should I be counting 5 weeks from the date when I actually applied or when I got the email about my ID number and log in? I just want to know when to expect a decision.
Thanks!
