@silverfalls31 - If you like U of Arizona - proximity and education, that would make sense financially since med school would be expensive. You will be able to save money on undergrad education
Yesterday I heard from a neighbor that it has already been decided that Pitt will not have any in person classes until January 2021. Feel like if they have already decided that it should be announced.
What is the source of your neighbor’s information? Is your neighbor in a senior admin position at Pitt? If not, I wouldn’t believe this. Pitt is currently actively recruiting upperclassmen to help with August dorm move in. Why would they be doing this if the decision had been made to not have classes in the fall?
From a professor at the school.
Your neighbor doesn’t work at the school but heard it from someone else? That’s called hearsay and is often inaccurate. Let’s not repeat rumors. I’m not saying that won’t happen but I doubt very much that a decision has been made.
@Hollysthree @me29034 I just want to clarify, Pitt will definitely be open; we just don’t know what it will look like. The Provost has assembled several task forces to create the best educational experience this fall. We will provide updates as we receive them.

@hailtopitt1787 “definitely be open” = the campus is open? Or the school will be open and possibilities range from online only; hybrid, full campus, etc.?
@carachel2 students will be able to take their classes we just don’t in what format yet as the situation is evolving daily. This could be online, hybrid, in-person, etc.
@hailtopitt1787 Is there a “math placement test” for the incoming freshman and is it just an optional or mandatory? When they need to take this test? Is it during orientation? Thanks
@YS1111 you can find more information on the math placement assessment here: https://www.mathematics.pitt.edu/undergraduate/aleks-math-placement-assessment
When a student meets with his/her advisor they will know if they need to take the test based on the math courses they will be taking. Advising appointments will probably happen later this summer when Online Orientation is open.
Thanks
I have officially decommitted from Upitt’s chemistry and honors college. I hope I made someone from the waitlist’s day
Have the Pitt Fall Waitlist acceptances started coming out?
Hi, so I’m currently trying to apply for housing except that I keep getting sent to Pitt Pay instead of the housing application. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, is there any way to access the housing application?
You have to pay the deposit, then you can continue. I think it’s $325.00.
What a wild journey this has been. My son committed to Pitt April 29th. On May 5th, Notre Dame called and accepted him of the WL. He just fell in love with the campus and atmosphere there when we visited.
With the decrease in Pitt Merit this year, especially with in-state kids, and with the generous financial aid from ND, there is not that much of a difference in cost.
And, ND will actually take some AP credits that Swanson won’t; so ND it is!
Go Irish!
Older son is a rising junior at Pitt and loves it! Best of Luck to all!
Have the Pitt waitlist started coming out yet
@hailtopitt1787 Are people in the waitlist going to be receiving their decisions shortly?
I called the office of admissions this morning and they said they were emailing waitlist decisions today but I never got an email and neither did a friend of mine… Did anybody receive admission decisions today or know when we will?
I’m having the same issue, too. Did you hear back yet?
