My daughter has the same gpa, 33 act submitted, so far good merit from other ea applications, nothing from Pitt yet. OOS.
Gosh I hope not. She is supposed to be a biochemistry major.
If you are in Dietrich you don’t declare a major until sophomore year. Any listing of a major at this point is just to help your advisor get you started. You aren’t locked into anything.
I just checked my portal and saw I got a $10k scholarship! Is this only for the first year or is it renewed every year?
Typically scholarships are renewable for 4 years. Sometimes the student has to maintain a certain GPA. You will have to recheck the fine print or maybe contact the college to be sure
Hi! Can you share stats? OOS? etc etc?
Plenty of people posted about getting merit without test scores.
Hey! I am an international student and I got my buttons today.
I got accepted for computer science.
Does anyone know how long they take to offer a merit scholarship.for now i haven’t got any scholarship.
hi, im an international student too. I got my acceptance 10th of dec and got a merit scholarship 15th of jan, so about a month. the maximum for international students at Pitt is 2000 dollars tho. they sent me an email but I also checked the portal under the financial aid section.
ohhk thanks for the info !
My D got accepted months ago. We are OOS. Still NO info on scholarships. She is top of her class, volunteer hours, member to many Honors Societies, etc. AP classes. I’m a single mother and I am biting my nails waiting to find out how to make this happen for her!
no problem! good luck w everything
DD just sent me this email:
Dear Student,
Earlier this week you were emailed a Financial Aid Offer for the 2021-2022 academic year. Our office is still in the process of finalizing awards and unfortunately the Financial Aid Offer you received was not a complete offer. We plan to send a Revised Financial Aid Offer the week of February 8.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Hail to Pitt!
Pitt’s Financial Aid Team
same weird. mine didn’t have any federal loans so that might be the reason? I hope I can get more grants though.
DD OOS got 5K a year merit. GPA 98, #5 of 260 or so, 6 APs, most classes all honors/dual enrollment. Test optional because she had no SATs – 5 tests canceled. Great essays and recs, pretty good but not blow-your-mind ECs. Have to confess to being disappointed. Pitt was her first choice but COA is around $40K. I’m thinking test optional hurt her, but what can you do? She has other options but she really wanted Pitt.
We did not receive any such email… So I guess it’s all still up in the air for some.
Did your financial aid package include any federal loans?
DD was offered a 5k OOS merit award weeks ago & then recently a $2500 Pitt Panther award. I’m not even sure what that is.
Pitt merit does not seem to have a set pattern. My daughter applied with a SAT 1570, with a 4.76 (4.0 unweighted) from a very competitive instate HS (all honors plus 13 APs- she has also moved beyond calculus and is taking linear algebra online), with good essays and ECs, and only received $2000 in merit aid.
Buttons on 12/7, email 12/11, STILL waiting for merit. Uggh…
