Same boat-- same college (Swanson). I keep checking the portal for aid notification but it hasn’t appeared. DD24 was offered a presidential scholarship at Purdue (also OOS) and a direct admit to Engineering. So, her stats are strong-- she was also accepted to Georgia Tech but no merit aid there yet-- not surprising since like 1% of OOS students receive any scholarships at Tech even with a 9% admission rate. She’s really interested in Pittsburgh and we’re touring over spring break but if she doesn’t receive substantial merit/financial aid, then it’s not possible.
So interesting how all this works. One of our twins was offered quite a bit of merit at Pitt but no merit at Purdue.
It really is a puzzling crystal ball of outcomes! So many highly qualified and meritorious kids competing for limited spots and resources.
my portal changed from ‘pending’ to ‘application complete’. I submitted SRAR about 2 weeks ago. Anyone know how to interpret this?
Check for “Accept/Decline buttons”, if you see them you are accepted, if they don’t appear, you most likely got either rejected, waitlisted, or sent to another campus. Your decision will appear in your Document Center the next day at 7 pm est.
In admissions tab in the portal, there is a button which says accept/decline admissions. In the tab it says, ‘no information at this time.’
Then you were accepted! Congrats!
Sorry, but where you see “No Information at this time” is where you will buttons to either accept and pay your $300 enrollment fee or decline your offer, you have been either waitlisted, rejected, or sent to an alternate campus. Sorry. The letter will be posted in your document center at either 7 pm tonight or tomorrow.
Got it–thanks!
He says the buttons are there? Or am I misreading?
You have misread their message. The tab is titled “Accept / Decline” and when they open up that tab it says “No information at this time”.
If he did get accepted, it wouldn’t display “No information at this time” but buttons instead.
The reason I know this is because when I got accepted back in October, my buttons appeared instantly and the “No information at this time” disappeared. Then recently (yesterday) a friend of mine got the same result and was waitlisted.
Spot on!
thanks all. Thinking its a waitlist decision.
Oops! Sorry.
Do you mind sharing why she is interested in Pitt than Purdue/GT? For an engineering major, Purdue and GT are dream schools of engineers.
She’s a city girl and so Pittsburgh is more appealing than West Lafayette. Plus, Purdue is very big and she’s not in love with the size of the student body or campus. Whereas, Pitt’s undergrad enrollment is quite a bit lower. Pittsburgh doesn’t have an aerospace engineering major which is why we missed it in the first round of EA applications. But, I have two friends with kids who are planning to attend Pittsburgh next year and suggested it to her. I’m not sure we’ll get enough merit aid to make it affordable. Time will tell, however.
My daughter graduated from Purdue with an AAE degree this December if it’s still in the running and you have any questions. Yes the school is big but the school of engineering is like a small community within the university. Congrats to her for receiving the Presidential Scholarship - not many engineering students are awarded it!
My son has the same on his portal. What did yours turn out to be and when did you hear. From it noting application complete and decision notification? He has no buttons just like you.
Waitlisted. Heard next business day after 7pm.
thank you. I assume this is likely the same for my son
