My twins have not yet received snail mail about their acceptance; only updates via computer so far. Other folks might have, though.
Hello! I think I read that certain colleges seem to send acceptance notifications on certain days? Is that true or did I imagine that?
If it is true, what days of the week does Dietrich sends out acceptances?
S25 received his on a Friday at 7:00 pm.
Did most people get a confirmation email and portal setup email the same day? My son got email to setup portals for other schools and not Pitt yet. His app was downloaded 2 days ago. I read many posts where they got portal instructions on the same day. Thanks.
I think ours had a week in between when app was submitted and portal email came.
We had a few days between, maybe 2-3? (Not counting the weekend, so really more like 5.)
Applied within the first few hours of 8/1……everything marked complete by 8/5…..STILL waiting
. Check the status page, all day, everyday. Even at the most conservative count of elapsed weeks, it is past the 6-8 week mark. My poor daughter is so stressed.
We are exactly in the same situation.
Hope the best for your daughter. My twins applied only last week and is in review now. I already feel the constant urge to check both application portals .. It seems most applicants with high stats are posting their acceptance decision. No idea what the lowest GPA /SAT score acceptance is for EA this year. My kids are in the bottom 25% percentile for GPA and 75% for SAT scores as per last year admitted student profile; Mostly honor/AP classes, decent ECs including one JV/varsity sport, clubs and voluntary work.. I hope for a quick yes or no decision instead of waiting for weeks!
If region has anything to do with it, we are a suburb of Philly? How about everyone else waiting?
we are OOS, New England
We did test optional, and we wondered if it is taking longer to read through essays, and evaluate more on qualitative aspects of the student as a whole. Takes a little more time than? Wishing everyone the best!
Same here. Worked hard, gave up parts of summer to work on app and had everything ready and applied as soon as possible and now the wait is hard when people around applied much later and hearing much quicker. Past the 8 week mark as well. No problem waiting when there is a set date but when it says 6-8 weeks and others are hearing much sooner, it gets very stressful! But as someone said, no decision is better than an unfavorable decision. Good luck to all waiting!!
Chicago
For those who are TO, I was pleasantly surprised that my TO and Undecided son was admitted at the six week mark. Good luck to those waiting! 3.7 uw, 4.76 w. 5 APs, many H classes.
Literally the advice I have been giving her!!!
We are at the 5 week mark and understand the stress for those who waited longer. For those who got the acceptance, does Pitt always send the email first or the portal might have the decision first?
Just want to provide my data point.
Daughter applied to Dietrich, oos, test optional through common app on 9/27, activated account 9/28, went to review on 10/1 and received email of status change and admitted on 10/4.
I regret I have no option to unlike your post for the last paragraph, even if it ends with “ Kiding”
DS got notification that went to review 9/25 - high stats OOS with test scores to Dietrich. No word yet.
