Accepted to Nursing with guaranteed admission to DNP/PhD. Application was completed on 9/29 and accepted 10/17. Surprised by the fast turnaround and really happy!

3.93uw/ 4.59w
My D26 was just accepted to Dietrich (psychology). Application was complete on 10/1. SAT 1490, 9 APs.
Okay my D26âs application was complete on 10/2, so now Iâm antsy, lol!
Any merit money?
Nothing yet and started a new merit thread - Merit @ Pitt - HS Class of 2026 - #14 by djt929
Merit at Pitt normally isnât granted along with the initial admit. The guaranteed programs are the only âextraâ that is determined at the time a student is admitted (as far as I know).
After students are admitted, they go into the pool to be considered for merit scholarships. The committee meets between October and March, and merit can be granted at any time during that period.
I felt like that last week when I saw some results with similar application submission dates! So when D26 got the email at 7:24pm, we were very excited - well, excited and scared (sorry - we are doing Into the Woods this year
IYKYK).
I wouldnât be surprised if you heard tonight! ![]()
My D22 has been in Into the Woods THREE times, so oh yes, I know. ![]()
Congrats to your kiddo! Will hold my breath over here, lol. ![]()
Mine got her acceptance email last night while at dance. She did not get into the main campus, but did get into Johnstown. Sheâs a nursing manor. I did not know she applied to Pitt. Not sure she will like the campus as she will be far from the football games and other stuff. We are in NJ. Iâm going to take her for a visit next month. This is not her first choice. Hopefully she will get responses from all the other schools. She applied and has more of a selection to choose from, but sheâs happy she got into something. ![]()
D26 was accepted tonight! Her application was complete 10/2, so just over three weeks.
She applied to Dietrich because sheâs interested in Digital Narrative and Interactive Design, and thatâs the school that was listed â but itâs half English and half Computer Science, so also part of the school of Computing?
95.84 uw/99.19 w, 1560 SAT, 6 APs plus one more AP-weighted STEM capstone class, lots of strong extracurriculars and leadership, National Merit Semifinalist.
We have not visited, so now weâll look at going to an accepted students day. Coincidentally we watched an info session tonight about the school of Computing and asked a ton of questions about the major and about general admission, not knowing that her acceptance would come a couple hours later, lol.
The major is very closely aligned with what she wants, and the only thing giving her pause right now is the marching band situation â itâs a big band with no guaranteed spot, and she would be pretty miserable if she committed to the school but didnât get to march. However, sheâs not sure how much time she wants to dedicate to marching in college.
But, all things she can now ponder â the hard part is done.
Hooray!
Woohoo! Congrats to your D26!
Congrats!
Yay! Congrats to your daughter! ![]()

Son applied 9/27, accepted 10/23- business. Good luck everyone!!!
Application was completed 10/8 and under review 10/10. Son just received a decision today 10/24 for biological sciences. Good luck to all! We are OOS.
Applied 09/29, application in review 10/02, acceptance on 10/22, Dietrich, OOS.
So happy to see all of these acceptances coming through. It does make me a bit nervous for my daughter as I was thinking this would be a confidence boosting acceptance (with only the GAP for Communication Science being the question). In-state application submitted 9/23, Under review on 9/29 - still awaiting decision.
Curious : no denials reported yet, is that correct? Do you think they send out acceptances first?
Also, any mid-year grade requests yet? A Pitt admissions spokesperson on Reddit - a couple of years ago (which of of course I canât find the post now to check the wording) said either âmanyâ or âmostâ are asked for mid year grades, but it seems to be rare on past threads on CC. There are a few this year already on the Reddit forum. Past CC in that position seemed to get waitlisted often, but on Reddit there were a number of admits after the grades were received. (Am I getting anxious about something that hasnât even happened yet? Why yes, I am.)
I donât know the answers to any of your questions, but it would be WILD if our kids landed in the same place!
Crossing my fingers for your C26!
(Still a lot of college application season to goâŠbut I am still writing the âhelp me choose between these schoolsâ post in my head, LOL.)
