Btw C26’s letter says housing guaranteed for “at least 2 years” which seems more cautious than the 3 years still on their website.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding but wouldn’t you expect more positive responses to qualified applicants earlier in the cycle for a rolling admissions school ? Judging from Reddit a lot of the people asked for midterm grades end up waitlisted.
My son got his honors college acceptance letter tonight! So happy for him to hear this early, as I thought it was Feb/March ? Still no merit letter yet ![]()
S26 also just got his honors college acceptance. OOS, Computer Science major.
Daughter just got accepted to honors college as well - definitely much earlier than I expected… Now just some merit would be nice!! OOS - Communication Science Major
Congrats! My son just heard that he also got into the Honors College. He is super excited. He is Swanson ME OOS.
Same here – just got honors college acceptance but still no merit. OOS Nursing
Daughter got her honors invite as well tonight - data science, OOS. She heard merit about a week ago. Pleasant surprise before we head to an accepted student visit this weekend. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear!
D26 got her honors college acceptance as well! Wowza!
Daughter just got her Honors acceptance. OOS, Dietrich, Digital Narrative and Interactive Design. She’s shocked and so excited - with this and the merit this is now a top 3 option.
Son just received Honors acceptance tonight also, OOS, Dietrich for biological sciences. He’s really excited about Pitt. He also received notification of Honors from another university as well that will make OOS cost the same as our in-state flagship, but he’s really loving everything he’s seen about Pitt. We will plan a trip to go to an admitted students event and we’re hoping for some merit. Congratulations to all!
How were you notified of honors acceptances?
Letter in the portal
Honors acceptance tonight too-just waiting to hear about merit before we visit-don’t want kid to fall in love if we can’t afford it!
Heard about merit last week and now honors! Pleasant surprise to hear quickly about honors and thankful for Pitt’s rolling admission.
Congrats to those who heard and good luck to those who are waiting!! You got this!!
We got an email says “Pitt Application Status Update” to prompt you to log into the portal to check. When my D26 logged in, we first missed the Honor College Decision Letter link… so we were a bit confused.. until I saw the messages in this board. and then we relogged in and noticed the Decision Letter link (Separate from the admission letter link).
My son (in-state, pre-med Dietrich) received merit last week and honors notification last night. It is great to hear this so early. Congrats to everyone and good luck to everyone waiting!
His stats are 4.0 unweighted, 4.966 weighted, 1520 SATs, what I think are really good ECs and essay.
D26 got her honors college notification yesterday!
Of course, she didn’t see the email until today, despite my telling her that there seemed to be a lot honors notifications coming, and that she should check. So she emailed me from school about it today. ![]()
Still crossing my fingers for some merit.
Soooo the only day that really works for us to do a Dietrich admitted student visit at Pitt is the same as we’ve booked for a concert out of town having planned on a weekend away …ugh. There are a couple of general admitted student visits during C26’s spring break but those are the short tours. May wait and see if they add any Dietrich sessions to those - not sure when they update the calendar, does anyone know? So far they only have those added sessions up to December on the calendar.
Any thoughts from those of you who’ve done this before whether it’s significantly better to do the full Dietrich tour (8:30am-2:30pm) than the general + a Dietrich add-on (general 11:15am-1pm + Dietrich 1:30-3pm)? I have a feeling it probably is but would appreciate insight from those who’ve done this.
Annoyingly, the virtual tours take place during C26’s school hours.
