If my son has already applied and now wants to add an application to the honors college Does anyone know how to do that? He Used the common app?

If he did not check the box on Common App indicating interest in the honors college, he could try contacting his admissions representative for help. Look on the Pitt portal (the new portal) for contact info, where it says “Contact Us.”

The Pitt web site also suggests trying their chat bot. Maybe it could suggest a way to add honors interest to his app?

Start with a chat. Look for the chat icon in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop or mobile device. (Safari or Google Chrome browsers work best). “Cathy” our friendly Chat Bot is available 24/7. If it doesn’t have the answers you seek, you will be given the chance to engage with an admissions representative via chat or email.

I don’t know if that form is still operational. It might be?

I remember S23 did the honors form as an add-on after his initial application for admission, and since the form didn’t send him a confirmation (as far as I remember), and there is no way to check in the portal that you have applied to honors, he worried for months about whether it did anything! (Eventually he was admitted to honors, but that was the only confirmation he got that he had applied.)

So I think if I were in your student’s position, I would like to hear directly from an admissions representative about whether the form still works :slight_smile:

If you find out for sure, let us know, because I’m sure your student is not the only one in this position.

No decision here. Applied through common app and all documents were received by 8/5. Admission portal is showing “awaiting decision”. Applied for business school.

Chat bot directed him to the form too, and he received a confirmation email after filling it out. The new portal does have an area that says honors interest and currently his still says “not applied”. Hopefully that changes over the next few days. If not, he’ll call.
