Top Scholars invites typically have gone out around the third week of January or so.

Is it a bad sign if we didn’t hear anything today?

My daughter was accepted which includes direct admissions to the nursing program. Any insight on the nursing program? We are so excited!

I dont think so as I believe they release a Dec wave and another in Jan or Feb…so more to come. Good luck…

Thanks!

Congratulations! My daughter did too!

No, from what ive read it seems like the Business School people got merit but the school has clearly stated merit will go out mid-March. Im hoping we get something then.

My daughter just got accepted into the Honors College — we are over the moon! SC Honors College and Duke are her top choices, pending financial aid.

I was wondering if anyone knows if early acceptance to Honors means a Top Scholars invite is likely?

I wondered this also.

Son also accepted into SCHC (OOS) today. Daughter was accepted a few years ago (ultimately selected a different school), but getting into SCHC doesn’t equate to a Top Scholars invite, which are ultra-competitive. Congratulations to all those accepted. It’s going to be a hard decision for these kids to say ā€œnoā€ to some of their options.

Congrats to all who have been accepted to SCHC. It is a huge honor - #1 honors college in the nation. My kid applied also but no word yet. Not expecting to be admitted - stats are a tad below their published admittance thresholds. UofSC is 5th/5 schools on his list though so it’s ok! Good luck to all.

Two years ago, my daughter was admitted in December without merit, which was a surprise. Due to that, she eliminated USC from her list. She was admitted to Clemson, so when we visited Clemson in February, we didn’t even bother visiting USC. A week later, USC finalized merit, and she was offered a generous scholarship, but it was too late. Just because you don’t get the scholarship language on your letter does not mean you won’t get any merit money. That said, her younger sister applied the following year, was admitted without merit, and never got any. She’s currently a freshman loving every minute at USC!

If you have to put down a deposit to enroll before putting deposit on housing will that take away any possible merit that may be coming in March. Due to the fact they see they have you all ready enrolled?

I have heard so many sorority rush nightmares at SC, they must have fewer houses than a lot of other colleges.

Anyone ever see Bama Rush???

Rush at SEC schools is always competitive. But with schools that have few sororities, (not BAMA) it’s Uber competitive.

Ole Miss is a lot more cut throat than most.

I had no idea ! It was mind blowing to see!

The nice thing about SC is they guaranteed each girl got a bid (may not be a house they wanted-there is an algorithm involved) as long as they put two houses down on bid day. As a result the pledge classes are huge but at least the girls have a place to land. They have to arrive a week before the other students so they get a good deal of rush done before classes start. But it’s long…

Has anyone gotten their snail mail YES! packet yet? I saw the picture of admissions stuffing the packets on social media around the time that the EA acceptances went out. My son has received his email/portal EA and Honors acceptances, but nothing in the mail yet. Thanks.
