I remember seeing a chart somewhere on the website. The procedure of different depending on what you are switching to/from.

If you come across chart again will you post please!?

I believe that this is for existing students, so it may be different for those on the way in. Some majors like International Business are capped, I believe.

i am wondering about my chances of getting into the honors college. i am oos (minnesota) and haven’t heard back yet.
stats:
4.05 weighted gpa (we are on a 4.0 scale and school does not do unweighted.)
no class rank
30 act (submitted)
lived 5 years overseas (4th-8th grade)
speak 4 languages (english is mothertongue, finished spanish sophomore year and obtained seal of biliteracy, learned german overseas, now in french 3 honors)
2 years varisty tennis (all state academic award)
4 years varsity track (captain senior year)
raised $10,000 sophomore year for LLS Student of the Year campaign
private school
13 honors/ap/cis (my school limits the amount we can take up until senior year to 2/3 per year)
mock trial senior year
LINK leader senior year
campus ministry senior year

also in NHS and Kathleen Murphry Scholars program at my school

My D was able to switch from Biology to Exercise Science in her application portal. I think it took less than a day. Her AO has been very responsive. I don’t know if we’re just lucky or if they’re all like that at USC. Overall, very pleased with ease of communication and things like switching the major at USC. We also had to deal with the IT department and they were so friendly and helpful.

AO stated there is a high level of interest for the Business school so unfortunately the change can not be made at this time and she will be put on an ā€œinterest listā€ and notified in April.

Bummer. I wonder if anyone here has/had students at USC who can offer insight on how hard it is to switch majors as a current student? Good luck!!

What level of merit were they given oos? My gut is no, as the average GPA for honors is much higher, as are the test scores.

the gpa seems low because of how its weighted. i’ve noticed that a lot of the schools in the south have 4.5-5 but the highest at my school you can get is around a 4.25.
i was given reduced tution and at least 40k.

does anyone know if sending a letter/email of continued interest to the honors college admissions will help your chances or make you stand out?

or if you are able to send 1st semester senior year grades?

Curious if any early admit Honors College kids who didn’t get the Top Scholar invite have received any communication that they had not been chosen. My D didn’t get a TS invite, nor have we received any other email/notification. Last year, some families indicated that about a week after TS invites went out, they received an email about not being chosen. I will update if we receive anything like that. According to another parent on this thread, yesterday was the deadline to accept the TS invite so I would assume any extended invites go out in the next several days. Good luck to any who may be holding out hope!

My kiddo was an early admit but did not receive a TS invite and has not heard anything further. We were really hoping that he might be invited based on their posted stats. It would have made USC his definite selection. Now we wait…
