I emailed someone involved with the scholarships at usc and they said that there are still more top scholar invites to be sent out. She said all invites to TS will have been sent out by the end of January. After that, they will notify those who weren’t invited. Hope that helps and good luck to all hoping for it!

My daughter was accepted OOS with “at least $40000” merit. When will she find out about the actual amount? Also with housing already been open since December will she be out of luck in that regard if she waits to commit until March?
Housing is guaranteed for all freshman so i wouldnt worry. Many people are waiting. We certainly are. I need to see if my son receives any merit in mid-March when it formally releases.

She will find out mid-March. We made a trip down after mid-March (in 22) and he committed as soon as he saw the school. She will have no prob getting housing. She may not get her first choice but if she pairs up and the other person has “higher” status, she can get pulled in.

Re: Top Scholars. We are planning to visit next Fri/Saturday for admitted students day. I suggested to my daughter that she email her admissions counselor and ask (gently) if she might be in the running for Top Scholars so we don’t end up going this upcoming weekend and again later in February. I figure it can’t hurt to ask…worse they can say is no…I had assumed all TS invites were sent and we were out of luck, but if there really is a chance, not going twice in the same month 
I’m so curious to hear if they responded to you and if so, what they said!

They said TS invites are being sent by end of month, and for those who didn’t make the cut, they will inform via email by end of month as well. So they said hokd your reservation for now as all will be communicated before next weekend. Tricky for flight scheduling from OOS but seems lots of availability, so we wait a bit longer.

Totally, expecting a 5% rate for out of state this year, I would guess. Applicants are way up, and it’s not like they are going to suddenly get tons more in state applicants.

Anyone know if the school of business is more competitive to get into than Arts and Sciences? Are you expected to have AP Calc or anything like that? Thanks.
Darla Moore Business is more competitive. I’m not sure for all biz majors, but some are considered pre-business freshman year unless they are also admitted to honors.
