University of South Carolina Early Action for Fall 2025

One interesting thing to consider is that the SC students in the top 10% of their class were already notified of their acceptance (I believe)… So that impacts what they consider high stat

No way they only accept 8% in EA–they would lose too many potential students (who don’t want to wait until RD) to other schools.

It was FB Parents Class of 2025 but it was just a parent saying “I heard on another forum…” Never said which forum or had anything thing to back up that statement. I have now seen her statement quoted on a few forums and pages. It doesn’t seem very reliable at this point.

sooooo is it too late to apply to regular decision ?

I wish all schools would put out some data with their EA acceptances like UGA does. The rumors just cause additional stress.

Capstone scholars are announced in March with any additional merit awards.

This is all very stressful. We’ve had a bit too much disappoint for our EA round. Good luck to everyone OOS tomorrow.

I wish admissions would release some data prior to the decisions, so we have some context for what to expect

Same. I feel like we are going in blind. In a normal world my DS should be able to get in w/ Merit but this seems like twilight zone these days.

You call it the Twilight Zone…I call it The Wild West. We’re both right

Indeed we are

Gosh just reading all these posts very stressed here as this should be a school my daughter gets in with merit I would think but maybe my perception is off! Fingers crossed we hear good things tomorrow !

Sending your daughter good luck!

Thank you. We were deferred from Clemson- but a day later got into Chapman with merit- completely different type of school than sc. I am hoping she gets in with some merit South Carolina -also has Charleston tomorrow but I don’t think that is as high on her list as sc.

Hopefully she gets good news tomorrow! Also keep in mind that deferred is not a soft rejection at most of these SEC schools.

My son was deffered from Clemson as well. Praying for SC to come through as an accept (with merit preferrably). Sending good vibes out into the world :sunglasses:

We are on west coast so obviously these schools are not as popular so I have no idea how to read the tea leaves! I honestly thought sc would be a non- reach for her

my son said this year record breaking applications everywhere. do u think more kids applying to college or maybe less people applying to crazy expensive schools and ivys. making states schools harder and harder to get into. I swear all these kids are so smart. there is no way I would get in anywhere lol. good luck :four_leaf_clover: everyone

I honestly believe it’s the Hive Mind. All these kids are on TikTok and seeing the same schools over and over – football games, parties, Greek Life, and they want to be a part of it. These smaller liberal arts/satellite campus schools aren’t the ones with the viral videos. My daughter and her friends are applying to most of the same schools – when I was in HS my friends’ lists were all so different.
And it’s been so crazy the past few years. I told my daughter at the beginning of this process that crazy things can and will happen. And there were only two schools on her list I would be absolutely shocked she didn’t get into. And it’s not like she’s applying to ivies.
