No, don’t be sorry! I also reached out to my regional rep and the admissions office… they gave me sort of beat around the bush answers that made me think it possibly wasn’t a tell of deferral.
Some of these people are just insensitive…

No idea. My guess is this years deferral % will be higher though. It seems UTK wants to be more “competitive”
I hope they are transparent about stats for accepted/denied/deferred to get a sense of chances if deferred or understand why we were denied.

Oddly, I think the slower roll out would lead to more wear on the servers and people would be constantly refreshing for hours. I think it’s one of those “prepare for tech overload” kind of experiences.
That said, the Universities should have more than enough infrastructure. Even though it’s lots of people hitting the site, even 100K concurrent hits to a site is child’s play in terms of capabilities.

OH I can’t believe I forgot this added bonus!! Some one here suggested maybe my portal wasn’t updated or something didnt look right… soI went in the SRAR a bunch to make sure - did I update it? did I change to numeric conversion? Did I do everything theyasked… I actually - I swear I am not kidding - I got an email from my AC at Clemson - Emma, just reaching out to remind you a deferral is not a denial. Please dont stress - we have received 11 copies of your SRAR and you have time to update that… we WILL give you a through review

Yeah so tonight will be a bust, and luckily now Clemson thinks I am loopy…
There are steps you can take if you get deferred from a college. There are several YouTube videos on it. I would suggest not spamming the AC (not at all trying to be rude so I hope you don’t take it that way).

She did it in error … her previous post states she clicked on the SRAR to check she had done all the right steps and it sent them out …
no I 100% appreciate the advice - and all I did was send a reply back to admissions after deferred and thanked them for the consideration and I appreciate the additional review.
She reached out to me today - I have had only a handful of emails with her… just if I really needed a question answered.

How common are these tells/errors this year? I heard about PSU and the Clemson button. Any others?
Yes I was trying to see what I would have missed is all… no idea why 11 went…I didnt click anything 11 times… oh well - at least I am showing “demonstrated interest” hahah
I thought it was really nice of her actually to reach out. She didnt seem annoyed just super compassinate

Both Penn State and Clemson were ridiculously spot on … just as this will be in a bit
I didnt know about the clemson button - the lions path is a thing… It worked for me, but I can’t say it would work for everyone right…? That’s what’s hard
As a parent, I’m stressed out so I can only imagine how you feel. A lot of accepted students do not ultimately attend so try to be patient. A deferral means you are still in the game! I know it’s hard but no matter where you end up I’m sure you will be successful!

We logged in this morning and saw the info implying my daughter was admitted before it disappeared. After reading about a poster above whose daughter took that info and logged into the student portal, my daughter did the same. She was, in fact, admitted so those who saw the info early this morning should be in good shape. Those who took a screen shot of their info this morning could do the same to confirm. Not much longer for others to find out.
