I am so very sorry, you will end up where you belong. Keep that in your heart

+1 this happened with s24’s application as well with UTK/VT

Hope the way this EA release was handled is not indicative of how things generally work (or don’t work) at UTK.

We had a similar situation. Also applied to VT. Her dates were something like 11/4 and 11/21 and had no idea something was amiss. I was shocked today.

Same here one daughter got in Haslam School of Business
ACT 29
GPA 4.5
Several honors and CCP classes
NHS and various clubs
Lots of volunteering
Tennis and other items.

I’ve asked around and I’ve been told there are no rejections in EA; only deferral or acceptance. Does anyone know if this is true? I was hoping deferral still meant I had a shot since my semester 7 grades show an upward trend, but now I’m not so sure.

Just declined my admission and I hope it opens up a spot for someone here. Good luck!

Deferred. 3.6, 27 ACT.
Not a surprise. My kid was accepted at SMU yesterday so no outward disappointment at the moment.

Daughter was accepted.

School of business

OOS

SAT 1420

GPA 4.4 on UTK calculation

Worked jobs during the school year and summer since she turned 15. Business and STEM endorsements at HS.

$13k per year merit

Applied to Honors and Haslam Scholars. No word on Honors, so we’re assuming that means no Chancellors admittance and no Haslam Scholars interview upcoming.

She will now decide between studying accounting at UTK or at Ole Miss, as these are her top preferences at this point.

Good luck to everyone!

My son (who was admitted today) applied for University Honors. I think now I may have misunderstood what he was applying for. Can anyone explain it to me like I’m three years old? His acceptance letter didn’t have anything that mentioned it, but I’m not sure if it was supposed to.

Can someone explain the SRAR glitch and what I should know/do?

Hi Tastor71 – it’s just a consumer product you’re buying. You can buy another one and be even happier with it. Schools sell young people on this whole lifestyle, but truly it’s just a marketing pitch. You have great stats. It’s UTK’s loss. REALLY.

Has anyone actually received a rejection. I’m seeing SO many deferrals. Is it possible they are sending everyone through to the regular decision process?

Accepted OOS. 13k per year merit. GPA 92. Not sure how it would be recalculated. Maybe 3.6? 32 ACT. 4 year varsity and club sport. Ran own business in the summers associated with sport. Volunteered at local hospital.

So her update came in after the EA deadline and she was still admitted within the EA applicant pool?

SMU is much better. Congratulations.
