I’m sorry to hear about the frustration with SRAR. I hope they are able to figure out the glitch.
My daughter applied OOS to Nursing. Accepted to her second choice major, Exploratory studies, but nursing application still under review. She was offered $13k in merit and admitted to the Chancellor’s Honors Program. I’m surprised she wasn’t directly accepted to nursing, but hoping it will work out in the end.

I don’t understand how providing extra information makes a student miss a deadline --? The purpose of the SSAR is to read apps without having to wait for official transcripts from the high school. At this point the colleges have the official transcripts. I don’t think your daughter did anything wrong, I think it’s an excuse from UTK. Best to verify with the other schools though.

The SRAR glitch hit us too. My kid also applied to Va Tech EA (however is in at Clemson—were some of you saying this SRAR thing happened at Clemson)? My child did UT’s SRAR in October and all was checked off so did not look back. Then the date apparently updated when the Va Tech app was made in November.
What are the recourses for these kids? I expect there will be a lot of calls to UT admissions tomorrow. I would like to understand if UT or the SRAR app is to blame before we decide how to proceed. At this point, I think these kids should get a decision sooner than RD.

We did an official tour in the summer. Not sure if that had any bearing in the review process?

My son was deferred at Clemson, but not due to SRAR glitch. Not sure why it happened at UT. He has called and left a message and sending an email as well. Happened to at least 3 other of his friends who applied to UT and then VT.

For us it was the mass shooting in Maine that cancelled the ACT twice, so we couldn’t submit a score. They could have cared less and were unforgiving. Could we have taken it earlier? Of course. But we were focused on preparation and review, not taking the test multiple times. Shame on us for not having the foresight of a mass shooting. Didn’t even let us enter the score in a week and a half ago once we received it. They don’t care about any of our glitches or problems. The fact is that they have way more applicants then they need. Move on to other schools is my advice. UTK is fine but there are many, many other “fine” schools.

I thought chancellors honors said the notifications didn’t come out until January. Did anyone get acceptance today?
My daughter got a Chancellor Honor’s acceptance tonight.

Good luck… it sounds like you really didn’t like Tennessee anyways and would have felt you were settling for it… maybe this is a blessing in disguise

Deferred/ OOS/ civil engineer/ IB diploma candidate/ great letters of recommendation/
4.43 GPA/ hundreds of volunteer hours/ VP of NHS/ Captain of varsity sport/ student leader/ worked part time/ I’m sure it was because my SAT was only 1250. This is my #1 dream school 
I think I will have to find another school now and I feel very sad about it. This was my dream and my parents said half of my Christmas presents are UT gifts Feeling a little lost now and trying to have clarity and direction.

My other one has gotten into ohio state , clemson and a couple of other rated schools
this one got into all the same ones except deferred from ohiosu, clemson and now utk
one more school left for both univ of cinci
