My son is a senior but I don’t think it has changed. He used his dorm contract and address to meet intent to establish residency for the military exception for dependents.

My daughter received the status update email regarding “The State Merit Scholarship” on Feb 3. WUE was on Jan 13. Once she qualifies for in-state tuition as a veteran’s child, she will no longer be eligible for the WUE or the State Merit Scholarship. Does anyone know if this is correct, or is there a way around it?

My son had to check his U of U email, and he received the Flagship scholarship.

Correct, the WUE and State are a packaged deal. I believe she will revert to in-state when the parent provides DD214 to school, and the State will go away. My son won the Flagship, and we are not WUE, so the Flagship will be reduced by half when he is awarded in-state tuition since I am a veteran.

Don’t forget about the department scholarships which require applications by March 1st. My son is applying for Metallurgical Engineering and should have a good shot at $5,000 with more for later years.
