Wow! How did your kiddo do 22 college classes? Online? Or does the school have a partnership? Honestly just curious for our future high schoolers.
Why apply if not a fan?
Did she apply to Clemson, UGA, GT, Wake, UNC ch?
I know Clemson had a crazy record year pf 65k apply, 39% acceptance rate this year.
OOS nuring Waitlisted so what next?? .when can we hear once we send the form and mid year report
curioiusâŠwhat did the rejection letter say- can you post body of letter? The waitlist letter was strangely written.
My D got denied , applied CS with SAT1540 OOS , IB student
How do you know if you got accepted for your major? I applied for the Engineering school and got accepted but it doesnât specify in my letter whether or now I was accepted to the E School.
Our school doesnât have a partnership. When she was a freshman she realized she was going to run out of classes at her school (small charter school), so she decided to enroll at the local community college. The closest four-year school is a couple of hours away from us, so CC it was. It definitely kept her more engaged, since she has taken literally every academic class the charter school offers, except the other language (there are two language options at the school). It allowed her to demonstrate more rigor, since the charter school has moved away from AP classes and the school is so small that they donât have separate advanced classes.
Which major?
I am deeply sorry to inform you that we are not able to offer you admission to the University of Virginia. I can appreciate that this decision is not the one you had hoped to receive, and I very much regret having to share it with you.
Your application demonstrated that you are a capable student with a bright future. We dearly wish that we had more places in the first-year class and that our decisions were not so hard to make and especially so hard to bear. We do our absolute best to consider all applicants fairly, and to treat them with the care and respect they deserve. Still, we regret that we must disappoint many students who we know will be successful in college and far beyond.
Although it may be too early to begin thinking of next steps, I want to emphasize that the door to the University remains open. Many candidates who are not admitted as first-year students reapply after one or two years of study elsewhere. Others apply to our graduate or professional schools after completing their undergraduate degrees. Should you remain interested in the University, we sincerely hope that youâll stay in touch with us.
Again, I am sorry that we are not able to offer you admission. All of us in the Office of Undergraduate Admission remain grateful for the interest you have shown in the University, and we wish you well as you continue your education.
I just felt it was a bit sappy to me with all the weird words and stuff.
What is the next step for waitlist. Can we send unofficial transcript or counsel need to send it

Significant community service (deeply involved in Special Olympics and Valerie Fund due to her best friend being diagnosed with brain cancer)
We are delighted because her brother is already at UVA, making it very convenient for us to have both of them in the same place. She has also received two other favorable acceptances at Georgia Tech and Purdue and will be interesting to see where she will end up.
Nevertheless - today was a good day.
