Capable student? Hmmmm….
Obviously not enough for them lol
I appreciated the sentiment. My son in the same boat. Sorely disappointed, but not unexpected.
Yeah, the letter was nice, just different than normal, which is fine.
My son also denied. OOS 3.7 UW/4.2 W. TO 9 APs, Varsity soccer. It’s tough out there!

So no deferred for anyone? Admitted, denied or waitlisted are the only three possible outcomes for EA? (Waitlisted here, OOS)
Yes. That’s new this cycle.
… oops. wrong thread. deleted.

Oos, waitlisted. Was a reach for my D. Top 1%, 32 ACT, lots of ECs, leadership, recs, awards. Congrats to everyone who got in!! And good luck to everyone as our kiddos get closer to putting all the pieces together and finding their next home.
Those are really good stats. He will get into a very good school.
Does anyone know when the financial aid packages come out?

We’re thrilled, my D got in OOS. The admission letter states, this year’s EA was intensely competitive.

Bummed here for sure, it was one of her top choices (as much as it pains the Hokie in me to admit) but also will always wonder if she would have gotten in if she had applied to the college of sciences. At UVA and one other school she applied to Kinesiology, she wants to be an orthopedic surgeon and with the renowned Kinesiology program at UVA we thought it a great opportunity and planned that she would take her premed classes as electives. Unfortunately shooting for the moon with that program may have been the difference.
The letter started out sounding so dire that Droid1 thought they’d been rejected. But…

Yes! No confetti, had to re-read it and make sure truly was admitted!
Decades ago, I was rejected from UVa when applying to grad school as OOS.
Today, it’s extremely hard to get in as in-state and almost impossible as out-of-state.
Congratulations to all those who applied!
