University of Virginia Early Action/Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admissions

Do we need to submit 1st quarter grades for ED? Typically mid year report, right?

No it’s not required. Also decisions are out this week so probably too late.

Dec 15 & Feb 15. the later EA date allows them to yield manage, remove all the applicants who either got accepted ED or committed earlier elsewhere.

Hello! February 15th is not due to ā€œyield management.ā€ It’s due to having 37,000 applications to read! This is an old blog post, but you can see how the timeline changed as the app volume increased. Maybe I’ll make an updated version of this post to show the last five years.

Engineering
ACT 35, 4.2 GPA, no APs offered at school but full slate honors and advanced
Unique ECs and leadership
I put these stats here to be helpful for upcoming applicants but what I really want to send are heartfelt good wishes to everyone here. It’s a lot of stress for kids and parents, more than in our day, with social media and everything else. All of the kids are awesome and deserving.
