does anyone know what s24 or d24 mean? are 24 year olds applying to college?
No, s24=son from class of 2024 and d24 is daughter class of 2024
thanks, that makes sense
Thanks for the immediate reply. This really helps. We are very happy to be accepted at our favorite college
Thanks
This link may be helpful: Understanding your assigned major
I’m an international student who got accepted, but into the pre-sciences major instead of the ACMS major I applied for. Can anybody tell me the difference between these two?
If you did not get in, especially for comp sci, take a look at UW Tacoma. They have an excellent computer science program, are easier to get into, and are still taking applications. Great way to get a UW degree if you really want one.
I vistited the website but it was not very informative
all engineering students start as undeclared. There’s a process to enter the major after first year I believe
Congrats!
Yes, that particular link is aimed at Computer Science and Computer Engineering applicants who were assigned pre-sciences.
For you, I’d visit the ACMS major admission web page to look at how you would apply: Admissions | Applied and Computational Math Sciences Program (ACMS) | College of Arts and Sciences - University of Washington
You can also consider other majors. The Allen School has a list here of computing-related programs to for students to consider (both capacity constrained and unconstrained programs). Computing-Related Majors | Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering
Got rejected oos for foster business. This application cycle is not looking good for me… 5 waitlists, 4 rejections, And really only accepted into 2 schools id even consider.
Thinking maybe community college is the move
Thank you. Got in !!!
I am an international student and I applied for economics as my major. I got accepted but my assigned major is : pre social science . Could someone explain the process to me ?
Absolutely nothing wrong with CC.
So basically, you will ned to apply to whatever major you want after you get a certain number of credits. It’s not a guarentee you will be able to get the major you want. More info here: Admission to majors – Office of Admissions
how do I change my major
It depends because UW admits by major and each major has a different status. What did you get in with and what do you want to do now?
Is it hard to get in when it comes to economics?
It’s capacity constrained so you will have to apply as a current student. I don’t know how hard it is beyond that.
I wanted economics as my major. And I got in with pre social science.
