" Students interested in applying to Computer Science or Computer Engineering must complete at least 30 graded credits and complete the prerequisites listed below by the time of application. Applicants must submit an online application through the application portal, write a personal statement, and fill out a work history section outlining their work & extracurricular involvement."

It is very, very competitive though even more that freshman admissions. Don’t count on it. The full process is explained here: Current UW Students | Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering

Use this link and scroll down a bit to additional application information to see major. This bypasses myUW which is broken right now

I have a question. My daughter applied for Bioengineering but got accepted for Engineering (undeclared). Is it easy to switch to Bioengineering later.

Her credentials as strong. OOS (was a WA resident till recently). 4.0 GPA, 1590 SAT, Strong ECs, four IB-HL courses (math, physics, chem, biology) with 7/7 in all.

Just wanted to know if this is common and switching to Bioengineering is easy

Website isn’t loading but sister did get in! How do I check her major?

Thank you. But there is no option to scroll down for additional information for us…

Really! I don’t know what to say then. I have a section called additional application information and within that heading it says “your assigned major.” Maybe just refresh again and it will load?

This is the way all engineering degrees except Computer/Electrical work there. You are guaranteed a UW engineering degree, but not guaranteed which one when you enter as a first year student. Your daughter will apply to her desired engineering major with the rest of her class after her first year. Direct from the UW website: "Engineering is highly interdisciplinary and our graduates across our majors earn 14% more in starting salary than the national average. It is important that you are genuinely interested in exploring multiple engineering majors, because we cannot guarantee placement into a specific major. "
