I’m seriously confused as I thought I’d get in here even though OOS with 1560/3.8 but I was waitlisted, and I’m really longing to go here for premed. I really hope there’s a chance.
This is kinda ridiculous, I understand they said decision could extend all the way out to august 1st but from what i’ve seen, they’ve accepted one instate off the waitlist (which was on this discussion) and a bunch of out of state WAYYY before may 15th. At this point i would just like to hear back even if it’s a no, it’s better than waiting this long and still not knowing. I know covid has created uncertainty too but there’s no way they haven’t had some kind of openings by now and if they haven’t they should’ve shut down the waitlist at this point
Will this ICE thing cause them to pull more do you think?
UW has released a statement in doing everything they can to protect their international students. If I am being 100% honest, I personally do not think they are even taking a look at the waitlist because of everything going on right now. Just my opinion tho, and hope waitlist gets cleared

Are appeals still viable at this point? This is my in-state school and I am looking for any possible way to get in. I am currently committed to a UC but the OOS cost is a lot to handle, especially since COVID-19 has impacted my financial situation heavily.
@TheDaVinciCode I think the appeal deadline for most schools passed. Which major are you? Which UC are you SIR’d at, and did you get in/decline UW?
@collegeappacc I’m SIR’d at UCSB, but I’m still on the waitlist at UW as a neuroscience major. If I’m not mistaken, I think their appeal form is still open.
Oh wow. I’m going to UW as a pre-med in the fall, and if their appeal form is open, go right ahead! I know couple of people who were denied a WL appeal in APril, and admitted off the WL soon after, so I wasn’t sure. Think your reason is very strong though.
My best friend is an incoming freshman and he just got in on appeal yesterday! I think he sent his in on the 6th.

So um. I just opened my email and was greeted with an extremely generic financial aid letter from UW. I checked MyUW and found out that I’ve been admitted!
I am an in-state student and did not submit an appeal.
I also got an email at 9:38pm this night with a weird notice saying I don’t meet the requirements for need based financial aid from FAFSA for UW & I randomly decided to check my portal & saw I got in! I’m an in state student!
Got an email this morning congratulating me on my acceptance! Good luck everyone

I’m an in-state student and I got off the waitlist yesterday also! Idk if this is helpful info for anyone but my appeal (sent it in Spring) was denied. I’m thinking they’re accepting more people because they’ll probably lose some students if/when they announce that they’ll be virtual in the fall. Good luck to those still on the waitlist! ?
I got off the waitlist on July 30th (I am a in-state student). I submitted an appeal back in the spring which was denied. I will be attending UW this fall as a pre-science major. GO DAWGS!!!
