In-state here, also received the update email today, checked my portal anyways- no change. Does anyone know how many applicants are on the waitlist this year? I’m surprised it hasn’t started moving a week after they said they could possibly start making decisions.
Yeah I’m confused what this update means
Regardless of receiving the email or not, you are still part of the Second Wave of Students.
The purpose of the email is to update students on the waitlist. Unfortunately, this update essentially told students there are no available spots at the moment regardless if you are an OOS or an in-state student. This is why I advise the current University of Washington Seattle Campus students on the waitlist to proceed with their backup plan as the odds are against you. You can still stay on the waitlist because miracles can still happen. However, this will just add stress and haunt you for the next couple of months regardless of your academic achieves. Good luck.
Many in state students were accepted off the waitlist over the last few weeks. The email is a ‘polite rejection’. I would not expect UW to have another big wave of waitlist accepts. It’s best to choose another school and move on.
They probably sent that email out because some people thought they would start clearing waitlists mid May. On initial waitlist form it said they would let us know by August 1. They also probably want to clean up waitlist so people who are no longer interested can be taken off the waitlist. It sounds like they have a full class for fall but you just never know what will happen over next few months. I will commit to my 2nd college choice and be pleasantly surprised if my waitlists clears.
@kchs206 and others
How will someone take themselves of the WL. Was there prompt to take oneself off?
@bekudi the email said to reply to it if you wished to be taken off the waitlist, if you wanted to stay on the waitlist you don’t need to say anything back.
In state and just got off of the waitlist!! I did not get the waitlist update email a couple days ago
@Mgkarlsvik Did UW send you an email that your portal has updated?
I received a financial aid email with a student number so I checked my portal and it was an acceptance! The next morning I got a congratulatory email with a pdf of my acceptance letter.
@Mgkarlsvik yay congrats!!! looks like those who did not receive a waitlist update email may be getting good news soon
@Mgkarlsvik Congratulations!! Would you mind sharing your stats just to give us an idea, and your major?
UW really had higher than usual yield with a sadder admission cycle for many applicants. rip.
When is the deadline to accept the offer from Udub for this round of the waitlist?
My deadline to accept was June 11th, approximately two weeks after I was accepted.
Anyone get accepted since June 11?
I received an email saying my financial aid updated, but when I checked my UW, there were no changes. What does this mean
Did you get accepted?!
That can be a really good sign.
I don’t see anything that says I was accepted off the waitlist.
Ah ok. In the beginning of March to just recently I’ve been having extreme problems with random financial aid, hopeful emails. They said it was an “error”. But if you receive another, short financial aid email BEFORE any note of acceptance you could be accepted. I only know of one person that was in state accepted via waitlist and they are already on this thread.
