Nothing for us and I have not heard of any waitlist decisions going out. Which is very strange given how early the waitlist update requests went out.
We have not heard anything either. Doesn’t make much sense unless they are waiting until after May 1 and for some reason send waitlist update requests early?
My guess is that this is all about waitlist management - they want to confirm interest so that when they do send acceptances, the response is a quick yes (rather than sending out the first batch of acceptances, those acceptances being turned down, and then having to move to the next batch of acceptances). It seems unlikely they’d send them out before today since the waitlist update request said it was due yesterday, but we’re also hoping to get (good) news soon!

I assume there will be nothing now until after May 1st - but I don’t understand if so why they would send the update request out so early as many who replied yes still interested will be potentially changing their minds.

I am not reporting movement off the WL, but my kiddo’s friend just heard last night on an appeal. She had been deferred EA then denied. She appealed and was just admitted last night (notified by email). Very happy for her, as UW was her first choice. Interesting that she was admitted and not moved to WL.
FWIW, it had been a shock she was denied, given her GPA and other stats.
I do not know her intended major. She is OOS.

Also, in discussing this with my kiddo, we counted at least a dozen UW admits from our HS alone who were accepted to UW and are going elsewhere. This was just a quick naming of names of people we knew who decided to decline UW’s offer of acceptance. It does seem disproportionate this year with the numbers of students who applied to UW (with no intent to go there - VERY irritating)! But do think it will translate to more WL movement starting end of this week/early next. Crossing fingers for all who are waiting for good news.

Is it allowed to appeal your decision if you were denied?
Some schools (including UWM) have an appeal period following a denial. I assume that appeal period is now long closed.
Thank you for sharing this information on the appeal decision and on other students decisions. Hopefully as you say we will see WL movement soon!

On the waitlist and offered the Connections program. Would rather start direct with Madison but considering this program and transferring in after 1 year since I will have enough credits. Anyone else offered this Connections program and on waitlist?

Has anyone oos been accepted off the waitlist yet? I heard that they will start sending out acceptances May 5th but I’m not sure how true that is.
My son is oos and has not heard anything yet.
Nothing yet for our OOS applicant either. Seems like it may not be a big waitlist year. 
I do not believe any in or out of state offers have gone out to waitlisted students yet. Baffling given the early update request. But I agree, it seems likely this is not going to be a big waitlist year with no movement so far.
Seeing some movement! My son just got off the waitlist at Wisconsin for CS Engineering. We are OOS. He got the text message 3:30pm PST

Looks like today is the day! Daughter accepted off waitlist, emailed notification 5pm CST this evening! Hoping it’s good news for everyone else who has been patiently waiting!
