I had seen on another thread that UTK started about a week ago. Interesting that itās continuing prior to decision day deadlines. Congrats to your friendās son!

Heās committed elsewhere; not sure what theyāll do.
I lived 10 years in Wisconsin and 5 years in Minneapolis. I found Minneapolis much colder. Or maybe we were just better prepared for the cold in Wisconsin. In WI, we kept our homes colder because the schools and offices were colder, so we dressed warmer. In MN, homes and offices were kept warm (too warm for me) and even the malls were heated to tropical levels. The execs in my office didnāt even wear coats into the office as they left their heated garages and drove to the heated office garage (we peons parked outside) but they nicely provided battery jumpers should our cars not start). Minnesota was just colder. No trees to break the wind.

I logged into my sonās portal this morning (he gave me his password bc he was out of the country over spring break, and I think he forgot I still have it 
) and it took longer than normal to load, and sadly I got a little excited.
No status updates, still shows heās on the waitlist. Boo

Well my daughter got admitted off the wait lost today. She has already committed to another school although she is still holding out hope that she will get off U of Michigan waitlist. Just thought Iād update because I know people are still waiting and wonderingā¦ā¦ Good luck everyone!!!

So accepted, but not interested?
She found out today and we have not sat down and talked about it, but I am 99% sure she is no longer interested. As the weeks have gone on and she has become more invested in the other school, I donāt see her changing her mind. Even though she wants to still get into U of MI, I doubt that would even work out either at this stage - $$$$. Also, she knew peers who had lower stats than her, in some cases quite a bit lower, that were admitted to Madison during regular admission. I think this kind of soured us a little on Madison if Iām being honest
