Are the scores showing now? If not, your child might want to contact someone. My D26 applied on 10/30 and received the portal login last night (11/1) and her SATs showed in it. She had sent her scores 3-4 weeks ago.

Yeah, not yet. I’ll have him call. Thanks!

My OOS daughter is applying into the communications major with a 4.34 W GPA and a 3.97 UW GPA. She sent her 27 ACT composite (English:25, Math:28, Science:31, and Reading:28) along with 2 other tests where she scored a 29 on the English and math section. For notable ECs, she is the President of Students against cancer (started a now annual town fundraiser), 4 years Varsity swim team, secretary of NHS, a freshman peer advisor, and photo editor of yearbook club. What are her chances of admission?

She looks like a great candidate but honestly there’s no cut and dry rule that you can count on for admission due to their truly holistic review of the applications. I have a sophomore at UW and the year he applied it was shockingly random – some applicants with stellar stats weren’t admitted, but ones with less were.

Hi

Is merit aid same as scholarships?

I am seeing “All incoming students with an active NetID and password are automatically considered for scholarships!” on Wisconsin scholarships page (https://financialaid.wisc.edu/types-of-aid/scholarships/)

We are debating whether to do the CSS or not as we are pretty sure we won’t qualify for any need based aid.

We are in the same boat and that’s a great question. I have a sophomore at UW now, and through the scholarships portal he was granted a surprise $5,000 merit scholarship from the State of WI freshman year through the WISH portal, but we don’t qualify for any need based aid and would also like to avoid filling out the CSS for our rising freshman.

Hi there - This is a big one on my son’s list. Looks like EA notifications should be out by Jan 31. Does anyone know if they historically release early? The 31st is a Saturday, so I’d assume it’s more like Jan 30. Maybe?

Looks like it was Wednesday, Jan 29 last year.

And the year prior, it was the last Friday of the month at 7pm.

Where would they show exactly in the portal? Is it the Madison.sis.wisc.edu page? We just now realized that daughter did not see they had to be official. She entered them in the Common App where they show for her Wisconsin download, but only today ordered them from the SAT.

Then they won’t be considered as part of her app. She’s test optional.

It’s the regular applicant portal. You have to click admissions, then pick application summary 2026-2027. Test scores are on the bottom.

Yes, it was for acceptances!

Best day ever! Good luck to all!

Are you sure the app isn’t considered incomplete since the student checked they are applying with a test score (but didn’t send one)?

@SoCal2024 Does your D’s portal show her app as complete and/or applying as test optional? If not clear she might reach out to her Wisconsin AO and ask. Good luck.

, Yes.

My son applied weeks before the deadline and had his official scores sent in. There was a systems glitch and Wisconsin never linked his scores to his profile. He called the office and they said, not to worry because your application is considered complete because scores aren’t required. He said, I am worried because I want my scores considered. They shrugged.

Same thing happened to a couple other kids in his class. Known systems issue at Wisconsin that they seem unable or unwilling to fix.

I was asking you about your reply to @SoCal2024, where you said they would be considered TO. To be clear their situation is different than your kid’s because they just ordered official scores yesterday.

I understand. And I answered that question. If the scores are not received the application is considered TO regardless of what was checked in the common app.

The application shows as complete and scores are missing. She is calling the office on Monday. bummer because she was so good about checking which schools required the official scores, and just missed this one.
