We did a UW campus tour on Dec 7th and I’m pretty sure they said Jan 15th in the overview session.
Sure, you can ask them. My guess is since EA results come out in january there is not enough time to process the mid year grades.
They said EA comes out 1/15?
I think 1/15 is the deadline to apply RD while the EA decisions come out last Fri of Jan along with MI, UIUC and some other mid west schools…also known as “Big 10 Day”

Yes, I was just wondering about the post that said they heard 1/15 during a visit. I believe the decisions may come out 1/24 along with the other big 10’s (I do not think they will wait until 1/31 but who knows)… hopefully!

Big 10 day is last Friday in January typically, but this year that is the 31st

OSU posted 1/24 and sent a postcard saying that is the date for OOS for sure. IU and PSU have been out but always come out earlier. I heard UMich and UMD also 1/24 but i do not have confirmation. I have been through the UW-Madison cycle before and even though it has been the last day Friday of Jan it usually fell earlier so people are speculating 1/24. They could also just do it another day…it is always a mystery…Let’s hope sooner than later! Go Badgers! and HNY!

I have a kid at UMD and it’s ALWAYS the last Friday although the tip off will be the weekend before release they go in person to give some kids their acceptances. When you see that you know it will be the next Friday.

That would be for in state kids? Didn’t know UW did that, how exciting!
Maryland does this for in state. That is what I meant since they all release on same day typically

During their presentation where they were talking about Early Admission, they said acceptance notifications will come out in middle of January (I think they literally said Jan 15th).
I remember updating my calendar reminder (from prior date of Jan 30) in the moment because it seemed pretty specific coming from Wisconsin admissions.
Feel free to double-check (if they’re saying it during a campus tour presentation in an auditorium with hundreds of people, I’m sure they’d provide the same info over the phone).

Is Jan 15 for all EA students?
My kid called yesterday, their response was the same as what is online “on or before January 31st”. Wish they would just confirm a date and not have us guessing and waiting….

I think the confusion would be that January 15 is the due date for RD I believe. I would think they want that date to pass so they can finalize the projections for EA and RD based on submitted applications and fine tune the final cutoff level for EA perhaps? Seems to me you’d want 1-2 weeks to do that so wouldn’t 29th seem most appropriate? Before the 31st and 2 weeks after RD deadline? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Wonder if decisions for EA coming soon. Trying to log into the admissions portal and it keeps giving an error saying try again later. We also received an email today to ensure recovery email is up to date.
my son got that email but he said he could log in and add the recovery email, that was a few hours ago though

Yep we are able to log in and update recovery email, but the “Student Center” to check status keeps glitching and says system temporarily unavailable so I am hoping this means they are updating decisions! 
Although we can access the part where it shows class registration even though we don’t know the decision yet. Hmm

My student did not get the recovery email. Either WI is sending out batch emails, or we can (over) analyze what it means to have received it. My student did say that the portal is “unavailable” right now.
