FYI… Waitlist decisions come out in small batches every Friday, beginning the first week of May. My daughter was admitted the very first Friday. We went up to visit campus on Monday — and committed on the drive home:) I should add, ALL of the waitlisted kids that we knew, got in at some point during the Spring/Summer.
thank you! what about deferred decisions? do they come out all at once on or before march 31st? or do they trickle out as well? Also, after entering grades and writing part, once we click submit it asked us to confirm which we did but there wasn’t a message confirming it was submitted right after.
Did that happen with anyone else? and does wisco send a confirmation email that it was received?
We went on a campus tour before applying and felt it gave us a great feel for the campus and the university. We also did a housing tour which was a separate registration. I would guess that if the tours for prospective students were really good then the admitted student tours would be still be very helpful if going to one of the full day events isn’t possible. You could try to schedule a 1:1 with someone in your student’s major to supplement the tour. We did that as well and also found that helpful.
If a student is deferred EA they are placed into the Regular Decision pool with all other RD applicants.
I combed through last year’s thread and decisions came out on 3/21.
Can someone explain what the “91-92 apps” comment means? Thanks
U Wisconsin Madison does not do direct admit to nursing (at least for graduating high school students). You apply to pre-nursing and then apply for nursing sophomore year.
It’s in your best interest to forget that this 91-92 apps means something. There was a notion on the day of EA decisions release that those with more apps (don’t recall the actual number) were likely admitted and others were deferred/rejected. The theory didn’t hold true for a number of admitted folks. At this time it means absolutely nothing.
When the time comes for the RD decision release, we can play this game among those interested at that time … lol…
I think that’s really smart that UW doesn’t direct admit to that program. Probably good to get a little clinical experience before committing. I have a close friend who majored in biology at UW (not pre-med, just bright) and later got into the NYU RN program as a graduate. She was a kick-butt nurse, made good money and had a flexible career.
“We’ve had a double-digit percentage increase over last year’s record, breaking 70,000”.
I didn’t get an email confirmation, but if you go back into the account you should be able to that the grades are just living there if you click on that section of the site.
No notification other than having name and date-time stamp added to grade report in the portal. Seems this is the confirmation of receipt.
If you see 92 apps before the results are out then it’s a good sign, if you don’t, then it can be either way; for us, we only had 92 only after the acceptance letter, but others had 92 before. So 92 apps is a good sign but doesn’t necessarily mean it’s reject otherwise.
I have a question for the international admits for EA. How many of you guys are applying for the king morgridge scholarship program?
Any idea when the deferred applicants are likely to hear
“By” RD date, I presume that means “on” RD date.
Last year RD and deferred applicants heard back on March 21st.
I hope early, deferral letter says “on or before March 31”.
EA was slightly early this year…
100% it will be earlier than Mar 31st; in fact I’m expecting much earlier given last year was Mar 21st, but even that seems far, tbh… lol
Very far, and we have 8 decisions around that time. I can not wait to get done with this process!
