Unread messages

It seems the threads I am following with unread messages don’t reset after I’ve read all of the posts. Started happening about a week ago.

I’m having the same issue.

I was hoping that the admins would see this post and fix the issue. It’s still happening for me.

Sorry for the late response. Please tag me @CC_Sorin next time to respond faster. Unfortunately I cannot replicate the issue. Not sure if anyone else is still experiencing it.

I’m still experiencing the issue too.

Can you detail exactly what’s happening? Maybe share some screenshots? As said, I cannot replicate the issue as it seems to be working fine for me. Thanks!

I have two things happening -
When going through unread posts it tells me I have one unread thread when I have none. And randomly my notifications aren’t working at all.

Ive also had issues with my devices not syncing but I just got a new laptop so I’m hoping that will correct the problem.

In this screen shot, it’s showing an unread message in this thread, except I’ve already seen it and the last message was my own reply.

@CC_Sorin - More screen shots. Note the bottom “There is 1 unread topic remaining…” But then when I click it, I am taken to the “Nothing left unread…”

Gotcha! Thanks, @momofboiler1, this is helpful. I’ll create a ticket for this and will get back once I have an update.

Mine is similar. However, the threads that I am tracking show unread posts (with the number in blue after the title). When I read the thread then go to another, the unread posts number shows back up on the previous thread and that thread remains on my Unread list. @CC_Sorin

UPDATE: I accessed the forum on my mobile device using Safari and the unread threads don’t show up anymore. It seems it only happens when I view the forum on my desktop using Chrome.

I think it might be a firewall issue on my end. I tried a different browser on my desktop and got the same result. Forums work correctly on mobile device. Thanks!

@momofboiler1, here is the response I received from tech:

The issue those folks are experiencing may be caused when multiple browser tabs/windows open, as Discourse attempts to update multiple views with the read status for those topics.

Could you advise those users to ensure they have a single browser window open and find out if that is the issue?

Can you try out what they ask and confirm if the problem persists?

@cltrising, as your issue is slightly different, let’s have @momofboiler1 test this scenario as the first step. Thank you both!

Unfortunately that did not help.

Thanks for testing, @momofboiler1! I have communicated your feedback to the tech team. Will keep you posted.
