I’m OOS Biomedical Engineering, still heard nothing yet. The wait is killing.
We were at the honors exploration program a couple of weeks ago, and they said the decision is much later in the process…after they accept, like late spring/early summer. BUT, if is a deciding factor for you, they said to contact them and they can give you more information. Her stats certainly seem strong enough for the program.
D20 Accepted for Nursing! With a scholarship.
She has some decisions to make. I wish they had ASD’s in January!!
??i haven’t heard back yet either ?
I have a 95 weighted GPA, 1190 SAT. Lots of extracurriculars such as national honors society, two year swim team captain, master of ceremonies in church, etc. Got accepted into the college of engineering with an intended major of civil engineering. Also received a $48K scholarship. Out of state applicant.
thanks @JLDmomof2 . Probably not a deciding factor but this is her #2 school. I figured she should get into honors…wasn’t sure if anyone heard about that yet. Thanks for the info.
Thanks! Well-deserved. Good luck in the program (or wherever you go).
Son Accepted

Did anyone get any information in your application decision about the Thomas M. Ryan full ride scholarship? Does anyone know if that information comes in the initial decision or are candidates contacted after?
Wondering that as well @laxlover293.
Applied 11/10, haven’t heard anything. Portal has confirmation that everything was received
Son accepted into CS. out of state 15K merit a year so it makes it like in-state.
He also got accepted into Umass Lowell and Umass Darmouth with full scholarships and honors college. Of course he wont go to those to save us some money
SAT 1540, GPA 4. something weighted, tons of APs. and activities.
He has his heart set on going to Northeastern so we will see it may be out of our price range. Congrats to everyone that good in and good luck to everyone still waiting.
So, the merit info was included with acceptance info on the portal? My daughter got accepted but no mention of any merit $. Assuming no!
@JAKSMOM my D’s merit information was only listed in her acceptance letter. Not seeing it in her e-campus portal. Was any merit listed in your daughter’s acceptance letter?
Has anyone who has been admitted received notification yet if they have been selected for consideration/participation for the “Thomas M. Ryan Scholars program”?
DD officialy accepted yesterday and we paid the deposit. She is going to be a Ram !!! She had multiple offers to others schools but decided URI was the right choice for her. She is OOS.
DD was accepted on 12/16/19 as Computer Engineering major. She is OOS, SAT 1270 and GPA W4.7 UW 3.9. She was offered a very generous Presidential Scholarship of $60K over four years. Played in two sports at the Freshman and JV level. She played at the varsity level in one of the two sports.
Correction to my previous post were I stated “DD officially accepted yesterday”, meant to state “DD officially enrolled yesterday”. She’s very excited.
@laxlover293 we contacted admissions today to see when students would be notified if they would be a candidate to compete for the Thomas R. Ryan full-ride scholarship. It looks like candidates who qualify should be contacted by 1/15. I believe by email, possibly a phone call.
Also, if anyone was wondering if an admission packet would be sent in the mail they are not sending them. They are going green this year. The admit decision letter accessed in the portal is all they are providing.
Do you know if we will get anything in the mail at all? I know previous years they received a sign with “rhody rhody rhody rams rams rams” on it so I am hoping they will still send something for my daughter!! So excited for her to almost commit!
