UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

If I am indeed forced into Liberal Arts, I honestly do not get how they would reject all three of my choices (including Journalism) and put me in somewhere where I have absolutely no interest in, acting like they know what I want to do in the future more than me. They probably also looked at my straight 100s in advanced math and science classes and decided that I’m not fit to become an engineer… how ironic.

be happy you’re likely to get in, unlike me and other people who are non-auto’s waiting on our less than 10% chance of getting in. Must be nice

But I can see her frustration. She wants to be an Engineer! Is it really 10% chance for non AA? Would it be easier to go to Rice with 11% chance, lol

Registration Information Sheet----RIS

If you don’t get engineering …then what should i expect for my son who is top 5% :frowning:

is she auto admit?

Yes

I have no idea. Hopefully, they just put that in my RIS because the decision come sout today. I think there were two others who also said their majors changed to Liberal Arts/Undecided. I think three people in this forum being rejected from their major of choice on the same day is statistically unlikely.

Hoping you are correct. I guess we will know soon enough.

Do priority applications take up most of the application pool or does regular? I’m regular and I’m not sure if I should expect anything today

are you auto admit?

No, you shouldn’t expect anything today.

I’m in-state, priority, auto-admit.

Is “bad data” really a bad sign? I applied by the regular deadline OOS.

Today is the day for PD applicants, Good Luck all!

If your daughter never took an OnRamps class, she doesn’t have access to her RIS yet. My friend who’s also auto-admit and waiting for his decision today just told me he still has BAD 1000 DATA, and he never took an OnRamps class in high school. There’s no need for her to be frustrated.

From what I’ve seen, bad data doesn’t necessarily mean anything - there were people last week with the bad data message who got accepted to their major of choice!

Very helpful (and a relief)! Thank you!

Since you’re OOS, you never took an OnRamps class, which means you shouldn’t have an RIS yet.
