They just need to let applicants know what day and time these decisions come out. Most colleges tell you.

IMO this is the one year the UT admissions team has to completely ignore the top 6% rank and SAT/ACT/usual easy admissions/major decision protocol and just do what they want to do. This year is a total crapshoot and anyone can get in, even top 15%, no SAT at all, no AP scores if not offered, etc. If you can bring some talent and especially diversity to the table, you have a much better chance. Especially if you put a lot of thought and effort into your essays and expanded resume. That’s from my crystal ball, but verified by my magic 8 ball. I predict a lot more diversity at UT. All of the top 6% ususal suspects with a 1400 SAT who usually get their 1st choice major will likely be offered “lleftover/not as popular” majors.

Well, it looks like today is not the day. Time to go back to studying engineering physics again although there is no point if I don’t even get into engineering. I’m so sad

It’s a worrying trend that we are underweighting observable and verifiable evidence of hard working, and relying more on marketing ability. Especially sad for those wanting to be an engineer.

I agree. Whatever “consultant” posted on Reddit as being in the “know” clearly had her time come and go because this year is different. Obviously. Everyone needs to go with ED no later than 2/1 and not read into anything.
