Comparing this year to last year, is anything really different other the delay of when applications could be received.
Making assumptions again. The fat we are admitted or not , has no impact in what I wrote!!! The process is same.
U can say the competitiveness is significantly increasing this year, given the situation and the test-optional policy
Since he is coming from an Early College High School, they do not allow him to apply as a transfer
RIGHT. But from a timeline perspective, nothing is really different, and that is what people are generally complaining about.
This is a thread about UT Austin admissions. Perhaps if you want to complain about the US system in general there is a more appropriate forum for that.
Might I remind members of the forum rules: “Our forum is expected to be a friendly and welcoming place.”

Let’s support each other instead of throwing shade. This time of year is stressful enough as it is.
May I suggest something, the simplest solution is to voice your opinion up directly to the Admission office or the university itself, they are in charge of this and should take every suggestion into consideration given such a renowned institution and its impact on a large body of students as well as parents. A campaign can also do you good, more people equal more strength. Or you can always run for the president and tackle this problem single-handedly
Bear in mind that this is an unpredictable year along with its horrendous consequences on students and huge pressure on the Admission team. From my observations, yes, they have flaws in these times, people have the right to address this but it’s also necessary to consider the past and future “normal” years where their systems can function properly again, thus guaranteeing no more delay, hopefully it will be.
Whining and complaining about the system on this forum and not taking a proactive role in solving the problem will not prove effective. Instead of writing the hateful comments, how about we chill out and let nature take its course.
Everyone!!! There are accomplished, extremely stressed out seniors trying to use this feed to connect with each other. Let’s drop the stressed parent chatter and keep this forum positive cheering these kids on through the weekend and beyond. Please!!! The kids need positivity and kindness. UT is a great school. UT is one of many great schools. UT and all schools had to pivot and process apps for the 1st time ever with no test scores all while facing an uptick in apps. Let’s give UT a break. I am certain their essential workers in admissions are exhausted. Improvements to the process can be discussed and made after the process for this year’s seniors is over. Parents, let’s let these seniors have their CC forum back. Please keep it kind and supportive. Hook 'Em Horns. Texas says “What Starts Here Changes The World”. Let’s set a tone of kindness here - kindness to all, but especially the youth who are trying to persevere in such a historically challenging time. High school seniors, you’ve got this!!! In your lifetimes, you most certainly will change the world. I pray you do so with kindness. The world needs kindness more than ever. As a mom of a senior, I am so very proud of the Class of 2021 pushing through. There is an amazing college experience in store for each of you, keep the faith!!!
I hope UT Austin office sees this and gives all of us admission offers lol, sending positive vibes matches their motto: “What starts here changes the world”
Thank you!
@momtexas - Thank you! Needed to see that this morning on what has been an extremely long journey. The seniors and parents of seniors here are amazing and it’ll be UT’s loss if they don’t admit them all! I’m hopeful they will do amazing things wherever they land. I’m grateful to this community for showing great spirit, love of UT, and info sharing. Don’t think I could have survived these past few weeks without you all. Excited to see A TON of acceptances later today!!!
What if it’s a wave of rejections lmao, just jk
Well said!
Anyway, are we sure 100% that something is going to be released today?
No one is ever 100% sure but it is getting rather close to the decision deadline!
honestly, I have a feeling everything will be released on February 1st
What if everyone on Feb 1 receive an email entitled “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to defer all admission decisions until further notice”
You aren’t helping with everyone’s anxiety right now.
Does anyone know if they read your application despite turning in required documents late
