How about for RDs? Did they mention if any decisions are going out for them?
No sorry, we only asked about priority decisions. Wishing you good luck though!
The post was not aggressive I was just doubting your information given the timing. Sounds like your daughter did in fact have a call with UT so many will be watching with fingers crossed and hopes high. Wishing your daughter an acceptance!
I do appreciate that. Same to you as well. I cannot understand why people would post false information, that is cruel. We were surprised to have them say decisions would be forthcoming on a Saturday too. I do hope we were given accurate information and that lots more students get acceptances. Wishing you and your family the best!
Can I ask whether other universities practice this admission process lol, cause that would be freaking stressful
I applied priority decision. Even if I am rejected, I should hear something by tomorrow correct?

We are instate, top public high school, 4.0 GPA, SAT 1560, none AA, and haven’t heard a word!!! This is so frustrating!
I do not have the disclaimer or anything like that. RIS still shows BAD1000DATA and nothing has changed in over a month.
My daughter found out about this last night. Strange
I’ve been able to see RIS and CASH for weeks now and my admission still says in review. It just sucks because 10 minutes before decisions came out everyone’s portal started changing from bad data to letting them see everything that I can and I got so excited. I guess it all came crashing down once i saw the words in review. Everyone who has been able to see RIS and CASH for some time now has not been accepted and it’s sort of a slap in the face. I know you shouldn’t believe in rumors but it’s hard not to when the pages you could access were only for admitted students. I wouldn’t even have been that disappointed if it wasn’t for RIS and CASH. Just my two cents.
For all those with the courage to apply to UT, you all should be proud of yourselves. There are thousands outside first quartile won’t even attempt to apply.
For in state, if you get CAP/PACE this weekend, PACE is almost the same as acceptance, and for COLA applicants, CAP is also considered acceptance. Note that CAP has a very tiny window (minutes) to sign up in February.
My DD got in earlier this month, her older brother declined CAP in 2015 and attended A&M. Don’t sleep on A&M as it is as tough as UT. He is working in Austin now and is getting his company sponsorship to study MS in UT Austin. Not getting into UT now is not really a big deal. It is what the students do in college that matters.
Same. Are you OOS priority?
To add information. Daughter got in last night to liberal arts. We are out of state. 4 year varsity athlete. 4.5 GPA, didn’t submit scores. Applied priority admission by 11/1, used ApplyTexas. Major and applicant really align (I hear that UT Austin looks at the major fit). Very hard to get in from our school, data seems inconclusive. We expected a rejection. Very happy here, will be tough choices to make. Good luck to all, we’ve been on the other side with other schools, and we have to somewhat trust the process and that admissions know more about kids and college fits. Deferrals and rejections stink though. Email came at least 90 minutes after I saw it on the portal (email at 7cst, portal by 5:30cst).
Yes, OOS, NY. Applied to Moody for RTF on 10/31. Expecting Rejection.
so i applied on november 1st, so i assumed that meant i was regular decision. however on the my status website it says priority but could this be a grey area? since the priority date was before nov. 1?
What was her major?

Hi, student with a question here: If given CAP or PACE, when are you offered the chance to sign up for those. Is it a day in February, or when you receive your decision?
Spot on.
Like many others here yesterday came and went without an email for my son (In-State, Non-AA) and many of his friends. The waiting game continues, but whatever happens (accepted, accepted but not pref’d major, CAP, PACE, rejected)… it is what it is. Individual achievements aren’t dependent on this one decision.
I understand the passion for everyone here re: UT, great education at an amazing price. Perhaps in the future, the state of Texas will have multiple public university options to match the population of talent of in-state applicants, especially given the state population (ex: California with 6 of the top 10 publics and all strong nationally - depending on your preferred ranking system), but until then… as someone who has a few more kids to see through this process in the future - we’re going to continue to target and apply to a lot more schools than we originally thought to be prepared and have options, given the competition and process .
I am no way excusing UT’s handling of the process so far. Hard to argue it wasn’t subpar compared to other universities interactions so far in the process but given the unique factors (size of university, fewer equivalent public options, Top 6% rule, questionable portal technology, etc). I will admit they did clearly state the decisions would come February 1st. I can envision an environment in the admissions office where despite best intentions they may not have been able to provide the best experience for the applicants. They’ll hopefully learn and improve the communication process and be more transparent.
Everyone enjoy their Saturday.
