yup. i applied to 13 schools + all of the UCs and none of the schools i applied to operate like this.
some UCs have a set date (Berkeley is on march 31st) and others will tweet the exact date within mid-March a few days before. everyone gets acceptances, rejections, and waitlists at the same time on the same day.
if the UC system (much larger and has way more applicants per year) can do this, i don’t know why UT creates so much stress. definitely not a good look.

My daughter got that too or maybe I had never noticed it previously. Still waiting as well for decision.
Agree with you 100%. My son applied to these same schools along with many others. All have been great with communicating announcements or releasing all decisions together. We know kids who heard back in December and we are still waiting on McCombs. He got into Michigan yesterday and waiting to hear back from a few reach schools. Such a shame as he loved Texas when visited but at this point I am not sure he even cares. The amount of stress during this process is always crazy…and with Covid in the mix it is making this 10x worse. Texas really needs to postmortem their whole process.

Believe UT also looks at the 40 or so they admit from the high school, assuming 50% yield. Where do the Cockrell and McCombs kids rank relative to others in the class? It still doesn’t make sense sometimes. Kids at our near the top 10% of our HS that sends 70 out of 550 to UT got capped despite 1450+ SAT. The defining factor seemed to be that they wanted McCombs and Cockrell.
