For all of those that have visited both UT Austin and UW Madison- and may not have given me feedback yet- please share your thoughts/opinions on campus/campus life. It doesn’t look like my family can get me to visit either school by May 1. I need to make a somewhat blind decision.
Anyone? UW Madison campus size is 900 square feet.
UT Austin is less than 500.
Is UW Madison really SO MUCH bigger or is it just more green space, trails, lake, etc.
Any info? How would you describe each campus in a few words?
Youtube videos of each campus just show same views over and over.

My portal says that my application was cancelled for some unknown reason. Might contact the AO regarding this.
Which private dorms do you recommend?
While I had some issues with it based on the cost and services, my daughter lived in Callaway and loved it. Castilian is owned by same company, rooms are set up slightly different and it’s a lot cheaper. She was just in Dobie for the first time yesterday and sent pictures. While Dobie years ago was as nice as it gets the room had no carpet and the floors were concrete. I thought this was strange but not sure that’s because of the bad weather and need to replace them or that’s how it always is. She said it wasn’t just the floor that was not so great either. I’m not sure what other private dorms there are since they tore down towers a few years ago. SRD and Hardin which are female only also.
We toured Callaway in January and really liked it. My son will live there as a freshman, McCombs major. Looking for roommates. Feel free to message me if you want any additional details about Callaway.
I just got my results. My application was canceled for not having submitted supplemental materials on time. I distinctly remember having submitted all documents at least a month before the decisions were to come out. I had stellar scores, and like everyone, I have worked hard on my application. This sucks even more than a rejection, it feels like for a reason they just made up to handle the increased number of applications.

that is so sad, can you appeal to the admission office? cuz if u handed all the stuff on time, then it should be their fault if something went wrong : (

I’ve reached out to them. I honestly hope if there was an error on their part they can look into it. It would really be bad if I did everything right and just didn’t submit the scores a couple of days earlier and messed things up.

Hey Bro. Same here. Submitted everything but cancelled. Checked application status ‘completed’ till yesterday. Dont get what theyre doing
The reddit thread on UT Austin has a lot of kids talking about their applications bring cancelled… looks like they all got the information yesterday.

Maybe UT hit the wrong button and it’s not that they were cancelled but rejected? Doesn’t make sense that an application was cancelled. Even if it were incomplete the default seems to be that it would be a rejection which is what other schools do.

Sorry for that. But tbh UT has been horrible with their admissions process this year. Normally they’re bad, but this year has been one of the worst and sadly, it’s not just them. It’s happening at a lot of schools.

Yeah but first cancellation. Got some acceptance and some rejection but this is a brand new experience
