UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Thanks. I am assuming the 4.3w is out of 5.0? Congratulations!

My daughter is auto-admit and she has the “bad data” message on the registration sheet.

Y’all someone pls tell me if being able to view the registration stuff on myUT means something. I feel like I’m just getting my hopes for reason because this might just be a coincidence or a mistake on their end? What do you guys think?

It doesn’t mean anything. The only thing that means anything is the status in your portal. Reading into anything else is just speculation and the “Bad data” issue has already been proven to mean nothing as many people who have already been admitted still have the Bad Data on their registration page. Keep in mind, many decisions haven’t been made yet as they will continue till the last week of January.

What @HL2020 said. I’m going to be very very very very surprised if this is an actual indicator of whether or not you’re in or not. Especially with UT as a competitve school who like mostly all colleges, have done the process long enough to know what they’re doing. And even the people who had the updated registration were not admitted today, since there was no wave. Therefore we can assume that 1- registration does not mean you will be admitted in the next wave, and 2- it does not mean that you are in.

Keep hopes up though! I’m not saying all of this to make you feel bad, but rather point out that it’s conjecture and theories instead of actual fact

What account?

Any idea by when we can expect the next wave?

next thursday or friday. historically we would have seen a wave this week but nothing came out. So hopefully we get a large one next week

No rejections yet that I’m aware of. UT saves them for the very end. Historically, they have their biggest wave of acceptances all the way through the last Friday of January, including PACE and CAP (given test optional, and depending on the program, it very likely will go beyond January). If I had to guess, they’ll have a wave coming this Friday and their biggest wave the week after. My daughter was PACE’d for the class of 2023 and those notifications came out on Friday, 1/25. Rejections are sent out that last day. This will be a long 3 weeks. Just take deep breaths and know that speculating or theorizing acceptances/rejections based on what you can or cannot see in the portal will just cause more stress. You’ll all land where you’re supposed to. This is my 3rd daughter going through the process and am grateful she’s not following this forum. It would stress her out more than she already is. Stay strong class of 2025!!!

Do you really think they’re going to give decisions beyond Feb 1st?

Definitely, especially for those that submitted applications for regular decision. And if I remember correctly from past forums, there were FA majors and Architecture majors that didn’t hear until after February. This year is a nightmare for all, AO included. It’ll be interesting to hear how many applications they received this year. I have to guess it was overwhelmingly more than normal due to COVID and test-optional.

My son put Business as his first choice. His second choice was Kinesiology & Health, Physical Culture & Sports. At TAMU he got accepted into Mays Business.

What is CAP and PACE?

Coordinated Admission Program and Path to Admission through Co-enrollment.

Has anyone who has been accepted into their major already not been able to view their registration sheet?

Everyone I know that has been admitted to their major or is a student already has access to the registration sheet.

Then I guess that tells you something…

If you are auto admit does UT consider you for both major options? I know that they primarily look at your first choice. How likely is it that you don’t receive either as an auto admit?

First choice is Aerospace Engineering and Second is Computer Science.
