UT Austin Class of 2029 Official Thread

Active how? When I click it, it tells me “Your application is in review, it can’t be changed”

My son is auto, his moved out of review awhile back and says he has met auto admission and is still being considered for admission into requested major. His “change my major” is still active.

Oops. My bad. I assumed if the button is active, it allows change.

If anyone follows Kevin the Texadmissionsguy, he has a new blog post out with thoughts on UTs latest application flood news. He is always an interesting source of info on UT imho.

Same here. I applied EA in August so maybe it means they’ve reached a decision for me? I’m a CNS applicant.

Mine won’t let me change my major because it says under review

So far I just see McCombs and CNS…not all of which were auto admits.

Do decisions all come out at the same time? Or do they trickle throughout the evening?

Specifically, the only majors that appear to have acceptances in CNS are computer science and maybe one neuroscience according to someone else.
Everyone I’ve seen be accepted has been in-state, but auto/non-auto doesn’t appear to be a factor.

My DS was admitted to CNS - biochem. In state auto admit.

One of my students was notified. In-state, auto.

How long ago was he notified, if you don’t mind me asking? And did he get an email and what major? Thanks!

Reddit has some mccombs, a neuro, some cs, and facebook has a biochem. Very small wave it seems, some not even auto admit but they also report perfect or near perfect SAT and or ACTs.

Tomorrow is another day for the rest of us….

I was thinking biochem & neuro were in CNS. CS might be engineering at UT, unsure.

CS is in CNS.
So far, there have been results for McCombs, Cockrell, CNS, and COLA. Not sure about any others.

Do any of you guys know how heavily UT weighs the SAT and your essay? I have a perfect SAT score and according to someone who works in college admissions (as well as my grandmother who wrote LORs and taught AP Language) my essay is one of the best she’s read, but my GPA is low due to a bad freshman year (I have a very large upwards trend in grades though).

I’ve spoken to a lot of different people and apparently a lot of UT students who got into CNS were in the same boat as me, but people who aren’t from UT are telling me I have no chance or that it’s a reach.
