I got into Aerospace Engineering today!!!
Anyone heard back that was non priority or have any idea if we will be hearing back sooner than Mar1?
just curious, did you CAP?
@ase2022 Hey congrats! I’m an ASE major too!
Accepted! So surprised and excited - I’m out of state and thought there would be no chance to get in, much less to get first choice major of McComb’s. My stats are 3.75UW, 4W, 34 ACT, white female from large and very competitive SoCal school.
Got CAP
1330 SAT, top 5%
CNS Biology
@JoannaMcD what was your class rank percentile? That’s pretty unfair if you ask me.
the school legally is definitely not allowed to use race as a deciding factor for admissions, and the largest group by ethnicity is still white
my son got in Biomedical engineering. OOS sat - 1580, sat 2 - math 800, phy 800, chem 770. some awards as national top 10 level, NMSF, volunteer, valedictorian with 4.0 gpa. when and how to find out about any merit scholarship?
Does anyone know the difference between CAP and ACC (kids who take zero classes at UT but just enroll at ACC and hope) and PACE. Is CAP harder to recieve than PACE, should i be happy about CAP considering the non auto admit acceptance rate is 5%…
@nkasper My rank was 14% if I remember correctly out of like 700-something people
If you have received a CAP or PACE offer be sure to read the fine print of those offers, do some homework and see how many actually matriculate to UT-Austin campus AND how many actually get the major they want once they are there. CAP has some interesting restrictions/limited course options, particularly if you have dual enrollment credit or AP credit you are hoping to use. And maintaining a 3.2GPA (in college) may not be as easy as one would think, even if you are a stellar HS student!
Congrats! What were y’all stats like?
@ase2022 @maydayalrx Congrats! What were yall stats like?
My auto admit son found out he did not get either first or second major (comp sci or astronomy). He has a 4.8 GPA, 1520 SAT with 790 in Math, National Merit Semifinalist, and more than 10 APs with all 4s and 5s, (two 5s in AP Comp Sci). Any idea if there is an appeal process?
@janetmw…Wow! There is an appeal process. Speak with your son’s GC about it.
@texasteadarlin16 Pace is the hardest to receive other than full admission. Pace You attend 1 class at UT and the rest at ACC for a full year and you have to meet certain criteria to move to full time student. it used to be strictly offered to the top 10 percent who fell outside the auto at UT but they have changed that a little. CAP is offered to all Texas residents who meet the high school applicant requirements( like the right amount of each subject and math readiness etc) but do not get full acceptance or PACE. it is not true that there is a 5 percent acceptance rate among review candidates. - its between 15-20 precent ( closer to 15 for in state and closer to 20 for out of state).
@Subhamsahoo I got admitted in November for my major but I was 2/442, 1500 SAT, like 6 STEM ECs where I was the captain or president. I also had research experience through my local university. Oh, and I’m in state & a minority (Hispanic) and low-income if that makes a difference. My UT Outreach coordinator said my essays were great so that might’ve helped with the early decision. Also, I’m currently a finalist for the 40 Acres Scholarship.

PACE is harder to receive. You live on campus and take the bulk of your courses at ACC Rio Grand, and one or two courses at UT for the first year. Essentially, you are already there.
CAP is you take 30 hours over two semesters at another UT system school. You are not guaranteed admission to your major if you transfer to UT Austin after freshman year.
AFAIK, each program is what you make of it. Best of luck!
How does the appeal process work? I was top 8% when I applied but now I’m top 7%. Can I use that to get in?
