If I got CAPed, do I receive a mail or an email later saying that they can offer me a spot in another major that currently has room, like liberal arts or education?? or do I not have a chance of getting into UT anymore?

@collegegals you do not declare a major until you transfer to UT-Austin. They will only guarantee a COLA major.

@labegg My older brother got CAPed also, but later he received a mail saying that he can come to UT in another major like education or liberal arts. I was wondering if I get the same chance too??
Did anyone with high stats get denied from McCombs?
If I do PACE could I eventually change to a major outside of the school of liberal arts?
@txapplicant23 I doubt it considering that it’s already past office hours and if you were changed to the regular admission pool, they probably need more time to review it.

@apulse From what I understand, CAP and PACE are guaranteed COLA
if they successfully complete the program. ECON is not included in this and I believe Psychology is not. You can certainly apply to any major you want to. depending on what major you are thinking it can work out. ITs very difficult to cap into engineering or Mccombs( really impossible from what I hear) CS as well. it really depends on what your plans are for major and eventual career. ALSO- if you have a lot of dual credit or AP i would not do pace or CAP.
It’s a little frustrating still in review. Application was turned in on Aug 1st. All the paperwork was submitted by Aug 3rd and still no decision. Fingers crossed tomorrow is the day.
I’m actually quite worried that I won’t receive an answer tonight/tomorrow. I completed by application before the priority date but my transcript was sent a week after the deadline. Can anyone confirm if I’m on the priority list or not?
